Default Funny noise by the clutch pedal!

I am experiencing a low frequency ticking noise coming from the area by the clutch pedal and it goes away when my foot touches and actually depresses the pedal a 1/4 inch...any clues?

Many thanks for the help.

Probably won't get an answer on this 4 year old thread from the OP as they haven't been on for 2 years.

My understanding is this seems to be usually related to the throwout bearing and lubrication.

Check for play left and right in the pedal as another possible cause. If it takes more than a little pressure to get right of the noise then it's possibly firther down the line towards the clutch assembly.

I replaced the clutch, throwout bearing, pressure plate, flywheel, and slave cylinder last week (and bled the system). I was in need of a clutch, BTW. Everything feels great. But there's still a slight ticking right behind the dash in the area of the pedal assembly. It only does it when the car is running and my foot is off the clutch (usually at a stop in neutral). Once I depress the clutch, the ticking goes away.

Yeah, I figured. Wishful thinking on my part. Thanks for your feedback, however.

The clutch assembly is brand new as of last week. So I'm hoping it's something pedal related. That's where the noise is coming from. I do appreciate your feedback.

Thanks for the link and illustration, Zookie. Looks like most people are pointing in this direction.

Changed the master clutch cylinder and the noise is gone. Thanks for all of your comments.
