Well if it does feel harder than normal and/or even flimsy when de-pressed, then your "Clutch Booster Spring" is Broken.

Mine i felt it acting Wierd in December after i heard a Crunching and Clunk noise come from my Pedal as i was throwing Gears... I believe mine has been broken for a long time. Because today when i picked up my car from Autowerks with teh new Unit in my Clutch Pedal never Felt so smooth ever before... I have owned my car for alsmost 5 years now and she is 7 years old with 126k. My Pedal now feels like a Brand new car thats in the Porsche Showroom.
This is the Latest Part Number 996-423-081-20, its $49.82 USD at Suncoast or Sonnen Porsche or $73.69 CAD plus tax at Pfaff... I ordered mine from Sonnen but only ended up Saving a whole $2 after Shipping, Customs and Taxes... So next time id just get it from Pfaff (10% Dicount for PCA Members)
Anyways This is where is Unit is Located and looks like...
Apprently its a Easy DIY but i had mine done at Autowerks along with other stuff...
This is what my Orginal Unit looks like...
Inspect yours, if its broken, change it, it will definatly enhance your Driving Experieaence again

Good advice zook, well written.
Some 996TT guys remove their clutch booster assist all together in the name of weight savings and also for feel (C4S and on cars have a very soft clutch, vs the 996C2's which have an old school brick of a thing).
