Yes I can relate to this especially when you are driving on a stretch of road known for them to be like vultures.

I also wanted to add that the colour of the car will also make a diff IMHO.

I will notice a Porsche if it is painted correctly, sorry, with a bright colour, well it's either a Porsche or some exotic car in most cases. So if the Porsche is painted black, white or grey it can easily blend in (no offense to those that own these colours), so it might be at the last minute I see you. But I am noticed all of the time wherever I go, driving or just parked, I get a lot of compliments which is satisfying, I even get waves back from my neighbours with the car parked in the garage too

Here in Germany it is easy you can:
1. Not wave and nobody cares
2. Wave and have the other Porsche driver look at you like an idiot and wonder where he knows you from, thus leaving him feeling like an idiot.
ie no wave here

I would imagine Pcars are more common in Deutschland.

Do Chevy owners wave at each other there?

Whats with some of you fella's being so hard on the Boxter croud? Its still a Porsche. It might be the "poor mans Porsche" of todays world. But you shouldn't hate on them, unless they dont wave back. Then throw coffee on them.

You should redirect your hate to the people who drive slow in the wrong lane!

I was recently in Long Island (don't ask) and Boxster S pulled next to me and gave me the big wave, I waved back and say great color I love the Lapis Blue, he said "Thanks man, really appreciate that" and we went our way.

Anyone who is dick enough not to be friendly to another p-car should be driving something else.

If I ever see a CGT owner and wave to him and he doesn't wave back I'm going to smash my 110,000 Porsche into his 400,000 Porsche, life sucks get a helmet.

Just make sure to take pics, curious how a 996 will hold up against the mighty GT in a T-bone......

Ha - What's funny about Ben's avatar is that he's usng his knuckles to push out his biceps...ooops I mean "guns". I remember doing that when I was 12 or something.

Seriously though Ben, it's good that you've come to realize that being "too cool for school" mens you were just being a ***.

Here's a pic of me, make fun all you want. Notice I am a fat(ish) white guy. I shave my head because I'm pretty bald as well, although the pic doesn't show it. Don't make fun of my old car though....I draw the line there.

S'far as waving goes - we've had this discussion (many times) over on the air cooled board. Say what you will, the newer the car, the less likely the owner will wave back. Probabilities will say that the newer the car the less likely it is that the owner is an enthusiast as well....kinda goes like that.

Well my picture has not been modified, so you are going to either like it or not (probably because of the subject matter), but it is the art work that you should admire...oh and tattoo's do not hurt

Maybe I should use it for my avatar
