Default Turbo wings on non-Turbo cars?

In my search for a 996, I've seen a few cars that have the 996 Turbo wing - all looked factory... Was this a factory option for 996s, or was it simply a popular change added by an owner? Not really a fan of non-factory body mods....

Are you sure it's the Turbo wing or do you mean the GT2 style wing?

I think it's fine so long as quality/fitment is on par with factory, but if you're going to put a wing from a widebody 911 on there, make sure your car is a widebody else the proportions will look off.

Porsche does make a wing for the wide body cars, tt and C4S. The wing is part of the aero package that includes a front lip as well. Some cars came equipt with the aero package from the factory and some owners have added the wing after buying the cars. As with anything that is Porsche, the factory wing for the wide body is very expensive. My C4S came with the aero packge from the factory and it was listed as a $7,900.00 option!! Crazy but true.

Let me try again.
I am quite familiar with the different Aero option packages available with the different 996 cars (Mk I, Cabs, etc...). I've seen them all - I've been shopping for a while...
I've recently seen three different cars for sale - one in person - with the TURBO rear wing. I'm asking if it was avail from the factory. Here's why - if it was, it potentially makes the car rarer and more valuable. If it wasn't, then it was added at some point, and would make the car worth less than an unmolested version - and would be a negotiating point...

The Turbo wing was only available on the Turbo from the factory.

MA Shaw offers a replica TT rear spoiler for NB 996's that is always in the up position.

Cheers,
Stan

The stock Turbo wing doesn't even look good and i wouldn't bet at all that because the factory installed that turbo wing it's going to justify a higher cost for that particular 911. i highly doubt anyways that hte factory would install a turbo wing on a non turbo car

Since the turbo and NA cars have different engines and the turbo has a wide body, the stock turbo wing will not fit a non-turbo car unless you do some work to the decklid and I believe some engine parts. So, no, the turbo wing will not fit and has never been offered by Porsche as any type of an option. The MA Shaw wing, as mentioned, will bolt right on but it is a turbo wing that does not move (always in the up position). The real turbo wing goes up and down.
