Default Bad way to start the day.

Guy ran a red light. Hit me at about 50-60 km/h dead on. Boys are these cars solid. They charged him with running a red light.

Anyone has suggestions on how I ensure that my car is considered a total loss?

Just hope they total it and you won't pay ****, as long as his insurance is good.

By the way it looks, it might be a total loss. How much was the car worth before the accident?

This really hits home... looks like you and I have identical cars. I was in Toronto this morning before flying to Mexico. I feel for you, brother, maybe the Senators will take the cup and you'll feel better!

I think the ins co will total it, so hopefully you can pick up a new baby. Wish I knew how to help you make that happen...

Very sorry to hear of your unfortunate accident, but I am happy to see that you walked away without any major injuries. Given the apparent damage and what looks like it could involve a bent frame....I'm not sure that a "fix-it" would be in order. I'm not a body and fender man, but the unibody doesn't lend itself well to being put on a straightning rack....not to mention your loss of value (diminished value) when it hits the Carfax report. I truly feel for you.

Thanks everyone.

They are still evaluating the car. The guy who hit me had the same insurance company as me so that should ensure a smooth process. Will keep you posted.

Important thing (as you all pointed out), is that nobody got hurt (even the other driver). I was impressed to have a few pedestrian come see me after the accident and provide their phone numbers telling me that he had clearly ran the red light and that they would be happy to confirm same to the cops if I needed them. Nice that people have such decency.

I'm really sorry about what happened to you and your car. I'm glad the humans are okay, but the car looks pretty rough. I hope they total it for you.
