Hoping to get some cleaning done today. I did a search and not one 996 guy has posted about it. The 993,944 and others are all doing it. Some have seen some good improvements.
Has anyboby used this Seafoam in the oil. How long should I run with it in the oil. Some say 500 miles before oil change. There are no direction on the can, and I don't want to buy a new engine.
Also I want to clean by way of direct manifold vacuum line that will feed ALL CYLINDERS or other possible source ie. brake booster line. Does anyone have pictures of which line I should use.
Any advise would be helpfull

I have used bunches of Seafoam in a variety of engines as a fuel additiive. Good product, cleans up carbon deposits, and makes them run smoother. I have never dumped any in the 996 though. YMMV.

Just did the cleaning through the vacuum line.
I let it sit for 7-8 min and used about 1/2 the can. The car just sucked it right up.
Not that much smoke, I have video I'll post later. I guess it's because I rev the **** out of her every day.
There is 1 improvement that I saw.
1. Engine running just a little smother. Back fat jiggle
and RPM's confirm this.
I have used Techron and never saw this kind of improvement
I'll have to see if fuel mileage improves after I finish the full tank of gas I have.
In the end I’m happy with the initial results

Oh God, someone is going to hydraulic lock there motors over some carbon build up.
I admit, I have used tranny fluid and good ol' water while revving the snot out of the motor once the engine was really hot, I only noticed a difference around the intake side of the combustion chambers and the middles of the pistons once I tore my engine down, it didnt get everything. This was not a Porsche motor though.

So if you did it with other motors whats the big deal? Because it says PORSCHE???

Ya, maybe only some build-up but it does run better. I forgot to mention that my idle oil pressure went down 1-2 ticks. From 1.8 to 1.6 Not really sure why that is???
All in all like I said before, the car runs better
