Hi. I've been lurking here for a while, but just signed up after sending the check for my first Porsche, a '99 C2 Cabriolet. After about 25 years of wanting one, I finally took the plunge. I still think it's odd that my first Porsche is water-cooled, but I loved it when I drove it and it was the best value at my price point.
It's a plain-Jane Cab, with Tiptronic, and few other options. But it's in great shape, straight and clean, with what seems like a solid engine and good tranny. I hope I'm right in my assessment, but if I'm wrong I have only myself to blame for buying without a PPI (I know; I'm an idiot).
I thank all the long-time members here for their wisdom. I've learned a lot by reading, and I look forward to having something to contribute beyond my thoughts on price. (BTW, is the term "member" reserved for paying members?)
I can't post links or photos yet, so I have to apologize for the protocol violation. I'll put up a link or pic when I can.

Welcome!
Well, if you're like me, you'll still be getting a chill each time you get into the driver's seat and you'll spend the first 3 months repeatedly opening the garage door just to look at it one more time.![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Ahem. Can't wait to see the pics. <hint>

It looks like I can link out now. here are some photos of my car.
That's a few shots of the new car in a Typepad photo album. Click the thumbnails for larger.
And thanks for the kind words.

Nice car!
..and before anyone else gets there... needs clear side markers and 3rd brake light... oh, yeah and some bumper plugs for after you take the front plate bracket off.

So, what are the first mods we're doing with the stock C2 cab?

Clear side markers I understand, but what did you mean about third brake light? Are there clear bulbs that shine red for that light? Do people change the one under the wing, too?
Thanks,
CP

You can buy a clear (red) LED brake light from bumperplugs.com - smoked color when off, red when on.
I've not changed the one under the wing, but I was contemplating it as I was detailing my car yesterday.

I love the shot of your car in the snow. I plan to keep mine on the road year-round, but not actually drive it in the muck. I've got a place down Cape and the road is pretty bad in the foul weather.

Here's my "snow shot". This was when I was on my way to Michigan from San Diego, and I got snowed-in in Vail, Colorado on the way. It was the end of September, and a snow storm hit and I was caught in the middle of it. The previous night I was driving on unplowed roads in the mountains- very slippery- and made it to Vail and spent the night there.
