UPS mufflers to NorCal, about $30
Enjoying more of the beautiful flat 6 exhaust note via "PSE", priceless!

Many have shipped their mufflers to Darin (FisterD). I am not sure but I think he can do an exchange so your downtime would be minimal. I'd ask him.

If you aren't comfortable pulling the mufflers off yourself you could get someone in SoCal to pull them and reinstall. Just an idea.
Either way I'd be really sure you found someone that can weld stainless properly. Otherwise, "rust never sleeps"...

With the MKII mod it is not as loud as a PSE and so there is no reason to turn it off, so no need for valves with the MKII setup.

I looked at the Boxster bypass thread, wow that is some small diameter pipe, but I am no exhaust expert to know if that is a good or bad thing.
Plus, the guy's right hand is on backwards!

Demon, the Boxster S bypass I showed, is very similar to the pipes size in OEM Boxster PSE. I can say that It sounds very pretty

Here you can see a dyno result. A buddie from Soloporsche brought his Porsche 997 Carrera S just after installing the OEM PSE.
As standard the car is 355 HP (in spanish 355 CV)
The final result was 376,40 HP
That's the real proof in which you can appreciate an increment of power and torque with the PSE. The only way to say something about power increase is testing in a dyno.

Porsche will never approve this, because of problems with standarization of the pieces, but there is a real bit increase:

So do I

What I think is:
This 997 C2S had a good engine and perhaps the standard power was more than 355 HP. Not all the engines are exactly the same. The tolerance of the manufacturer allow this point. There would be good engines which a little increase and other with less HP that they advertise.
If this engine was in very good conditions, and PSE helps it to breath a bit better, it's not rare obtain this power results.
What we don't have is a dyno test, before installing PSE, but I'm sure this car had a very good fitness engine.
I know this guy and he never changed anything of his car, excepting PSE. The dyno results are true.

What do you think about it?

Simple: Before and after dyno would validate the results. Without that there is no way to believe them.

Hey guys, I posted before on here that I had just bought a PSE and I was willing to sell the MKII modded exhaust I had on the car. Well that one went quick and I wanted to follow up. I have a spare set of cans and a extra set of bypass pipes that I got just in case. I can have the mod done and send them to you or you can buy them as is. Please let me know. They are off the car right now so if you want the mod I can have it done and sent to you by Monday.

I finally have a set of MKII mod cans in shippment to me and can hardly wait to get them installed. I have a 99 cab 2 996 should the installation be striaght forward? Just remove the old 3.4 and bolt in the new set? Robin Sun did the mods and I hope to install them next week so I can start to enjoy the sound that expected when I bought the car... thanks SHAY2n10 for the assistance!!!!!

It will be a straight swap, but only if you put the brackets from your 3.4L mufflers on the 3.6L mufflers. Swapping the brackets is simple, two bolts per bracket.
