PCA Quest
Is it worth the $40 to join PCA Quest to get access to the MART for used Porsches?
I guess what I'm asking is, do people list exclusively in the MART or are most listed elsewhere too?

Do it.
Panorama Magazine is worth the price alone. Then 10% off most dealer parts counter sales. Plus some great events in your region.
Just do it.

It's more likely you'll find your car through a means other than the PCA ads, but the opportunity to met other Porsche owners is well worth the Quest fee. In fact, it's these other Porsche owners that may well be able to point you at a car. Plus, you get access to autocross events, social,s and other ways to enjoy your car and meet like-minded people.

I sold my 944 exclusivly through the PCA website and Publication (national and local). There was no need to advertise any where else and the purchaser new what they were buying since they are a PCA member...not much work on my part.
Also, Panorama is worth every penny.

Personally, I think a lot of the cars advertised in Panorama are over-priced, but the magazine is worth every penny, otherwise. What Quest will do is expose you to cars that never make it as far as Pano, since local members in the region will be the best source of turning you on to cars. Besides, you'll get a taste of what it's like to be part of the one of the largest and friendliest groups of car enthusiasts in the world. Only Rennlist comes close, and that's a pretty mutually inclusive group.
My first Porsche was a pretty ratty 924. My parts guy turned me on to PCA. I joined, but in the meantime sold my car. After receiving my first Pano and our local newsletter Voices from the Trunk, I turned right around and bought a 944. Over 19 years later, I am still active in our region, serving as it's webmaster and rallymaster. It truly is a big extended family, and which will go out of its way to make your experience positive enough to get you to become a regular member.
Good luck in your search!

All regions are different, but as others have said, PCA is well worth the membership. This forum is great, but there is no substitute for getting to meet fellow owners face. Panorama is awesome and the regional events are a bargain.
