So... dear fellow 996 owners. Anybody installed an iPod kit into their 996 yet? I am out of the country 'til november, but will be first thing i am adding when i get back.

I have the Alpine I-Pod kit for my Alpine CDA-9847. Can't beat having 7,500 songs to play on a roundtrip from Texas to California .

I assume you mean on a CDR23...the one system that I saw was shipping (NAV TV) seems to have many problems as demonstrated by the number of re-installs by one poster. The long awaited Dension is also STILL NOT available ...although it is also in "beta testing". My guess is it won't be out until after you return...sometime next year

I installed a Dension IceLink™ plus in my 2000 Boxster S (CDR-220) a year ago. It sucked and never worked right. They took it back.

The latest version has been reworked three times to add features. Four test units are in vehicles as of last Tuesday. Our group buy has grown to enormous size, and we hope to have some leverage for pricing based on volume alone.

If this last round goes well for testing, I expect to have the Dension units within weeks.

I had the Denison Icelink in my 00 Boxster S and then transfered it to my 99 996. No problems with it at all.
