Hey lowpue. How goes it? And how is that engine build going? I am dieing to know..... Not sure why there is an orange tint to the headlights in that picture. That picture was shot for a photo shoot.. But, there is no "orange" in the headlights. I replaced those for new all clear lights immediately.. Here is a different angle picture.. Also, let me know when you are in LV. And by the way, POC will be out here for a big track day at the lvsw. End of March, 25, 26, 27.. Come out and visit.

Man, I can't tell you how much I love your car...is it really as pristine as it looks in the pictures? I am out in vegas every December for a meeting so the timing to come out doesn't work but would be fun. Also, as far as my 996 build is going, the car is almost done. Dundon is doing all of the Maps for the ECU to get it to its final tune so I can't wait. Finally, I am talking about the amber turn signal lens that is behind the clear headlight cover. The picture below shows the amber I extracted out of my son's boxster lights.

Got it. Now I see what you mean on the lights. Have to look into that. Yes, I do love the looks of the MK1 aero, especially from the back. There are some more things that I would like to do to the car but I done so much already and I do not drive it as much as I should. The next thing is the IMS solution, but then again I would like my friend at Vision to build me a nice new motor. LoL.. We will see.

gbhstrat, sorry to have hijacked your posting..

Just had mine refinshed! Should look good in place of the HREs on it.

Bought these two weeks ago from a guy, along with a NIB front rotor and OEM battery tender for $950. Had them refinished in Dark metallic gunmetal. Can't wait to fit them to the car with new rubber.

You got a great deal on those wheels. I paid $3K for a restored set.

First of all, I hope this does not turn into a 19" v 18" wheel thread, I just wanted to respond to the question of "Will a GT3 wheel fit my C2". I got a set of Kinesis F110 in what I was told was a GT3 fitment. Front 8.5 x 19 w offset 50, rear 11 x 19 w 64 offset. Running 235/35/19 front and 295/30/19 rear with no rubbing at all. Car is a 2004 (MK2) and fenders have factory roll (not 180 deg). Also on OEM suspension so can not comment if there would be rub if lowered.

I swapped out the 19s that were on my car (275-30 & 235-35 19) and they didn’t rub at all.

These are my favorite rims on a 996. Looks great on your car in black. I'm on perpetual lookout for a silver set for my car.

So yesterday I got a chance to run the car pretty hard on a low traffic stretch of roadway I use to shake down my 944Cup racecar. I managed to get some “rub” on the rears on the GT3 tires on my Mk1. I probably drive a wee bit harder than some, and these weren’t billiard table smooth corners. My car has the factory MO30 suspension installed.

I’ll be rolling the rear fenders!

This could be the bi-product of 19 year old M030 suspension. Who knows. It only happened twice on two small sections of roadway, and a second test yesterday did not return the same results.

I have a new suspension as of last week so maybe once I get on the car we will see similar stuff. I'll let you know if that changes anything.
