c'mon dell you are just being nit picky... rolled/formed = symantics. rolled before or after the fact the point is clearance has been made so the tire won't rub. getting that out of the way, the gt3 fenders are rolled
well i have kinesis wheels in a gt3 fitment and my fenders did need rolling. the '99s were not rolled at the factory and the fender lip basically 90 degrees to the main fender. this may be the case up to '02 cars. '02+ cars are defintely rolled/formed and so is the gt3.
basically if you are running 295s (which ARE oem rear size for the gt3 wheel), have an early 996, and are not running much camber than yes you will need to roll the fenders.
in my case, my car is an early 996, i run 295 MPSCs, run -2.5 degrees of camber and is lowered... a lot. i DEFINTELY needed the extra clearance. i rolled the fender so that it's basically vertical

Pre-rolled at the factory is shaping a panel during "creation" of the car to FACTORY specs of what the dimensions of the fender is to be and is done by the factory. Rolling as we are talking about is CHANGING the factory template to accomodate a wheel that doesn't fit without rubbing in your virgin fender.
As I have said...and others have as well....you do NOT need to roll the fenders for additional clearance of a factory narrow body 996 to fit GT3 wheels since they are the wheels on the GT3 which is a narrow body just like your C2.

Dragging this back from the dead. I'm buying GT3 wheels tomorrow and plan to put them on a 99C2 Taco. Good to know I'll need to roll the fenders.

No need to roll fenders....I have MkI and factory MkII GT3 wheels with an additional 5mm spacer in the rear. And the car is substantially lowered. Here is a picture I just posted yesterday on another thread.

PMK....everytime I see your car its an absolute beauty...White Aero w GT3 wheels....love it. The one thing I would do to get it to be perfect (and probably the best looking 996) is de-amber the headlights....Its a pretty easy DIY.
