Will GT3 Wheels fit my 996 C2?
I have a line on some stock GT3 wheels for a fair price. I hope they can fit right on my C2 but the one inch wider (11" instead of 10") has me worried they will rub. My car has PSS9s on it and is about 1 1/2 inch lower than stock. Anyone know how well they fit?

yes they will fit, you may have to roll the fenders, I actually have 997 wheels on my car and the rears are the same offsets as GT3 wheels, except 19's and they fit fine, room to spare.

I said he "may" have to roll the fenders, you know GT3's do come rolled from the factory.

Lucent Motors in LA...Arling and Tom roll many a fender...Arling who has a CGT and did have a GT3 told me that the GT3's are pre rolled. Tom was an ex porsche head mechanic...It will depend on his camber and what size tires he runs...If he does not have enough negative camber or uses wide tires, like say a 305 or 315, then yes he will have to roll the rears GUARANTEED, if he has enough negative camber and uses 295's he should be fine.

Well, anything larger than the 295 is NOT factory fittment so you are on your own then and thus may have to roll the fenders. But Porsche does NOT roll the GT3 fenders.
If you just put on the factory GT3 wheels with the factory tire size you will be perfectly fine.

I run 315/25/19 and did not roll the fenders and never rubbed even on auto-x or DE. Keep in mind that I am running stock alignment and I have only a ROW M030 suspension. If you have the car really low you might need to roll the fenders. Any way I doubt you will have to roll the fenders using stock GT3 tires and wheels.

I did some measuring with my race wheels (18x9.0" 6-3/4" backspace/18x11.0" 9" backspace, currently mounted with GT3 sized PSC's) and there is enough room to run a 255/35 in front and 315/30 rear without rubbing on these wheels. Keep in mind that on an 11.0" wheels, the tire section width only increases .5" from going to a 315 from a 295. This means only an additional .25" per side in/out. I believe this may be an issue on GT3 wheels, but my wheels were made with more offset in the rear (about 10mm) than a GT3 has. In the rear end there is a lot more room to fit more tire going in toward the suspension than out toward the fender.

02 Carrera.....sounds like we are on different pages but what you are describing is NOT rolling the fenders like what the original poster asked or what others talk about here on Rennlist. Pre-rolled at the factory is shaping a panel during "creation" of the car to FACTORY specs of what the dimensions of the fender is to be and is done by the factory. Rolling as we are talking about is CHANGING the factory template to accomodate a wheel that doesn't fit without rubbing in your virgin fender.
As I have said...and others have as well....you do NOT need to roll the fenders for additional clearance of a factory narrow body 996 to fit GT3 wheels since they are the wheels on the GT3 which is a narrow body just like your C2.
