Default Cop problems with no front license plate?

I've been thinking about taking off the front license plate and putting in bumper plugs. Checked with DMV and in Oregon front plates are required. Has anyone had any problems getting pulled over for not having front plates?

When I lived in New York I took off my front license plate but put it back on after a week or so. The police didn't like it too much. Don't know about Oregon.

Here in TO it's hit or miss...sometimes they'll pull you over to be a PITA. Wasn't worth it, so I pull out the bumper plugs and mounted it the plate. These cars attract enough attention as it is from the local cops.

"KNOCK ON WOOD" ....have been driving around and see other cars drive around without front license plates....I have heard that they give you a ticket and make you come to the Police station, show that you put it on....go home...take it off.....

The P doesn't look good with front license plate....so I am going to be an outlaw.

I agree with Nicholaas, it looks alot better without so I would go outlaw regardless.

But here in CT both are mandatory, however, I have NEVER used a front license plate on any of my cars and have NEVER had a problem.

No front license plate on my Porsche, Vette, or MGB, and never had a problem yet. However, here in California, it is mandatory to have both plates. It just depends on if the officer has nothing better to do with himself.

Used to drive my Viper w/o front plate in Oregon. Never had any problems...
But then a Viper is more of an exotic than a Porsche.

Tell them it's been stolen if they pull you over.

Have mine between the passenger seat and the center console. If I get pulled over I'll throw it in the window and make like he must have missed it. Haven't been pulled over yet, I'll let you know if it works when I do.

I'm just wondering if I'm giving a cop an excuse to pull me over. Sounds pretty hit and miss. I've got some cops around where I work that are real ******, and it would probably make their day to pull me over.

Pulled over by CHP 3 times. First 2 times explained that there was no bracket Last time was given a ticket. I put the plate back on.

Even if it had been in your windsheild that's the same offense (and in some states more of an offense) as not having it at all.

I keep mine in the trunk. Was pulled over once and told the cop it fell off and that I would put it back on as soon as I got home. It worked.
