PSE- Where to buy
Has anyone seen a good price on PSE recently? I think I'm ready to order and install myself and the places recommended by past threads, like Brandywine Porsche and Sunset, seem to have raised their prices (to $1550 plus shipping and $1800 plus shipping respectively).

Just put mine on last weekend, and I am not sure I am going to keep it. It is alot louder than I thought it would be, like riding my Harley, you get on it and everyone within 2 blocks hears you. Haven't done the electrics yet, I am going to try just wiring the valves shut for a few minutes to see how it sounds. If I decide not to keep it I will make you a good deal. I bought it used, but it is in great shape and it is the later model PSE with the lartger by-pass pipes and the extension for the newer rear end tail pipe locations.

#1 upgrade for the money by far
I've been driving my car a lot more recently and PSE makes every trip a blast
I actually just got my emissions checked today and as the guy fired it up i got shivers down my spine it sounded so awesome
nothing sounds quite as good as you nail it under an underpass or in a tunnel
I don't have the switch, and under 3000 rpm it doesn't sound that different, in the morning I tiptoe on the throttle so as not to scare the neighbours, 10 am onwards..... well, lets says they get the full Porsche sound reverberating down the street!
I am getting my B & M SSK next week from Vivid (racing not **** studio), and i can't wait

This price, or one close to it, is also occasionally advertised by Brandywine in PA.

Where do you guys recommend looking for a used set? I've had a saved eBay search mailing me results for a few weeks now, but I'm mostly getting zTek, Boxster exhausts, etc. No PSEs for 911s

I had to look up my invoice to answer that question, so I'll give you the exact details:
PSE System:
List: 2090.77
Net: 1400.00
Switch:
List: 26.89
Net: 23.25
I believe Sunset simply uses a set margin over cost (15%?), so, unless Porsche has raised the price, then Sunset probably hasn't.
The simplest thing to do is call / email and ask. They are terrific to work with. All my dealings have been with Jeff.

You are correct, Sunset is 15% of cost (or what they refer to as net).
So....$1400 +15% would come to $1610 plus shipping. Not good, but by no means a bad price. I bought mine for $1500 shipped but that was 2 or three years ago.

Kim....then your invoice differs from how they "normally" do it. I have made probably 20+ orders over the years with them and the invoice ALWAYS has the line item number/description, then the retail and net (being dealer cost as they define it) and the LAST line item on your itemized list of items is called "handling charge" which is 15% of the total net. Then shipping on top of that which is at the very bottom of the form. I'd be interested to see that reciept. Did you negotiate something different then?
