Default what is an RMS

I see the letters RMS always being talked about, and now that i feel better about the smoke in the mornings once in a while, is there anything I whould worry about at 27,000 miles? the car seems to be perfect, but still just wanna be on teh safe side.

Dell is right, a search will do wonders. But the short and sweet (or in some cases sour) is Rear Main Seal.

RMS = Rear Main Seal. In layman's term basically it is a round gasket seal on the input shaft that separates the engine from the transimission, and basically it leaks and causes dirty driveways.

Input shaft = the other end of the crank shaft where the circular motion of the engine is transfered to the transmission.

There are many debated reasons why it leaks... will not go there for now.

Minor cases, dirty driveway
Serious cases it will cause the clutch to be contanminated and slipe.....

Paul, that was cold...... but funny!

Speaking of Bob, I haven't seen any posts from him in about 3 weeks or so. Actually, there are a few others that have been MIA: Itzkirb, Robyn, RLandis, haven't heard anything from him in 6 months.
