Default Help lost my only set of keys!!!

I called the dealer, they told me I have to tow my car into the shop to get the key to respond to the car???

IS there any other ways around it?

Thanks

You have to provide proof of ownership to get a spare set ordered.

But is it true I have to tow the car to the dealer to program it?

Sux, I still can't find my key.

I went to the dealer to order it but they told me that I need to tow the car in

Yes. The key will not start the car until programmed by the dealer. They have to fax the immobilizer codes, dealer code, VIN and proof of ownership to PCNA.

Any idea what a spare key runs on a 99 c4? I am just waiting to loose the first one.

I am doing search but cannot find answer to my query will probably talk to local OPC.
but here goes the breakdown of the problem.

My car has lost all keys. I have managed to get a spare key ordered from germany cut to the vin of my car which opens the door and will turn the ignition but not prime the starter. I managed to get the fob with transponder chip with the 24 number remote code. I also managed to get the IPAS codes for my car from porsche. I also managed to get hold of a PST2 (Original Porsche item) so far so good I proceed to go into the car with the fresh new key turn ignition on .....now because the transponder has not been programmed to the car the car alarm goes off because it senses alien chip. I boot up the PST2 armed with key learning code however the PST2 does not highlight the ALARM MODULE in the search??????

I need the ALARM MODULE to be high lighted so i can go into it and make this car accept the new key but how can I do this when the PST2 wont talk to the alarm module because the alarm is going off ???

how are you meant to program a new key if you have no old spare key to initally switch the alarm module off. any help from a porsche tech would be great

My 2nd hand info is you need the password for the car (unique to the car) and this can only come from the factory (or PCNA?) and certain items need to be supplied before the factory will part with this info. Not sure an individual can obtain these cause Porsche is concerned about supplying a vehicle password to someone who is not legally entitled to the information.

The factory I guess assumes the dealer will be the front man on this and get all the info from the customer the factory needs before it will release this info.

Even with what you need from the factory the alarm module may not (I'm not sure about this just guessing) be accessible without one valid key. I suspect it is but may require extra effort. I can't image Porsche would not recognize that some owners lose both keys and allow for this.

The alternative could be the alarm module would have to be replaced.

Once you have access to the alarm module you can introduce the new keys to the security system. At this time I believe you can then remove the lost key IDs from the security system key ID table thus freeing up valuable key ID space.

You'll just have to speak to a dealer and see what the dealer requires to supply you -- if it can -- with the vehicle's password to allow the PST2 to gain access to the security module.

Sincerely,

Macster.

macster

thanks for the reply but where do you input this pass word ? I assume all the numbers on the Ipas codes will do it I provided so much info to the OPC paper work etc . I.D and so on ..

The Ipas codes consist of the following info

product Nr 1234567

Anterncode/Learning code 12CC66

DME PROGRAMMING CODE 55CBD0

remote control 1 4087EAE7
remote control 2 43341E67

radio code

ignition lock alarm system code 312665

Immobiliser serial number 34123456

radio serial number
Transponder code 1 7335cc88
transponder code 2 676887ggbb
transponder code 3 77676tgy7788

immobiliser code 50C777456788ABC

The numbers have all been made up as I dont really want to post info relating to my car on the web lol just being over cautious i guess. I am sure porsche should have made allowances for the situation I am in. I mean what do they do when they repo cars with no keys ? or other customers like me who have lost their only one key.

I thought once I had the Ipas codes and PST2 tester I was home and dry however with out the alarm module being picked up in the scan i cannot go to the section where you need to input key learning code in >?

The PST2 picks up all the other modules with the alarm going off just wont pick up the alarm module ?

I need the alarm module to be picked up so I can enter it to change settings

That's the extent of my "2nd hand" info. What I was told. I never bought a PST2 (looked at a few but priced a little too high for my blood) so I never had a chance to get familiar with PST2.

If my info is right there has to be a menu selection that will prompt you or allow you to enter the necessary info.

Might be an obscure menu selection buried way down under "setup", "config", "system", or something ("security", "DME" maybe?). (BTW, those were just menu selection off the top of my head.)

Sincerely,

Macster.

Default ALARM MODULE

after talking to a dealer who not sure new what he was on about said because the keys have all been lost and their is no valid key to disarm the alarm module then the alarm module is no good it will never communicate with any porsche tester because you are trying to communicate with it with a alien key. The alternative is if you lose all keys you have to do the following

1) buy spare key blade cut to the vin of your car
2) buy a remote button fob with the pill chip inside it & 24 digit bar code
3) you need to get hold of Ipas codes for your car
4) you need a PST2 or PIWIS tester to program key in
5) you need to buy a new virgin alarm module which is under the passenger seat

after all this work only then you can start the car ??? seems a lot of hassle especially the fact you need to change the alarm module with the alarm sounding of non stop and the fact you cannot open the bonnet or passenger door because the central locking deadlocks everything.

so you need to undo the seat bolts working from the drivers side ?

surely must be a easier way ?>
