My wife and I are trying to finalize our February-build Slate Grey/black C4S. Our last big decision relates to ordering the supple leather vs. standard leather.
Can ayone share their experience with the two styles of leather? For example are the two types equally durable, cleanable, etc. Which do you recommend?
Best regards to all,
John

Standard leather gets my vote. Take a look at the dealers used inventory (of cars with supple leather). After a few years the "supple" leather loosens up a bit and looks sloppy.

I guess I'm a dissenter.
I saw both at the showroom. I liked the look as well as feel of supple, so I got supple. I love it. It gives an additional measure of comfort that can readily be felt. I also feel more secure, meaning, less slippery. It also looks more luxurious.
As far as longevity and looking sloppy, I have not seen any "old" supple leather. However, there's 10,000 miles on my car now. 10,000 miles of supporting 200 lbs, on the street and on the track. It looks as good as the day I bought it.
Obviously, I vote for supple. You should look and sit in both, then decide for yourself. You'll definitely go for supple.

I concur with Palting - Supple leather really finishes off the interior. FWIW, I have black supple leather - I can't speak specifically about other colors - but to me, it looks more luxurious in an otherwise "sports-car" interior. I like the subtle contrast.

Supple.
My car is my first Porsche, and not knowing that supple was an option, I was always turned off by Porshe standard leather seats. The supple was one of the many things that helped me fall in love with the car.
Most other sports cars that are on par with Porsches have harsh rides and aren't very comfortable. The supple leather adds to the multi-dimensional persona of my car. Its one more reason that the car is so comfortable, classy, and just plain nice inside.
Plus, chicks dig the supple leather.
But I'm sure the standard has its advantages too, you'll be happy either way....

Either way you will be happy but to my taste supple is what you would get in a Lexus (not that there is anything wrong with that), I much prefer the perforated, it looks like a sports car should.

Having sat on both types of leather seats, I agree with this comment -- IMHO I think that aesthetically the standard leather looks a lot better, but there is a marginal (no flames please) comfort difference in favor of the supple leather. As you can see, the jury is split...as it is expected to be. The choice is a personal one.
