Default Dunlop SP Super Sport Race @ Tire Rack

Looks like Tire Rack added the SP Super Sport Race to their lineup. Very reasonably priced too.

They are DOT-approved R-compound track tires that can be driven on the street. Some people do drive them everyday, but they probably won't last too long.

They are charging incredibly low prices for these tires. I'm tempted to buy a set and keep them in the garage to use after my PSC's wear out.

German reviews of the Dunlop against the Pirelli, Yok A048 and MPSC Rcomps showed the Dunlop to be the slowest but the easiest to drive. The testing was done on a GT3. The MPSC was the favorite, the Yok fast but hard to drive, and the Pirelli like the MPSC but slower.

Slow but cheap. I better clean out my garage. Any idea how long this price will be offered?

I have one set, and now new fronts since that's what I wear out first. I don't race but I was able to compare at WGI. It is the only track where I have been able to run both.

My exit timing spots showed the same time at each spot on the track. I did get one extra mph at the end of the back straight, but it was cooler that day then the usual summer temps I normally would encounter with the MPSCs.

They were cheaper when I got them from Sasco then the MPSCs from Tire Rack. They seem to last longer, so far.

I would buy them again, but like I said....I'm not racing so a half a second isn't that important.....yet!!!

i'm confused! you wear out your fronts faster than your rears???

Probably outside edge wear due to lack of camber.

Yes it is outside edge. I'm not gonna get a suspension change. I'm straight stock except for Pagid Orange pads, and the Dunlop SS or MPSC. I only do DEs and I put the stock Contis on for the street.

I showed the same front wear on the Contis when I first DEed the car. I don't go 10/10s, or race, but I like the feel of the track tire. A slick is more then I care to try at this point!
