So, how much would think about selling one for? It looks fantastic.

Was it painted black or did you clean and treat it with a plastic protectant like CarPro Perl? I know the bare plastic will eventually fade so I was considering cleaning and painting it with matte black with a satin clear coat over the top.
I cleaned up my teatray and shot it with etching primer, then flat black engine enamel. I know, the teatray doesn't get as hot as actual engine parts (otherwise it'd melt) but plastic paints don't always stand up to temp the same way as the base plastic does. Didn't have time to test, so overkill is the easy answer.

I'm targeting $695 for "general release", before folks ask for customizations. It's a large but thin print, so tricky to get consistent, and we still have many weeks of testing and optimization to do before thinking about shipping these to customers around the globe. But I think the aesthetic plus the engineering thoroughness should justify the price

If you're starting a list of buyers, count me in for one. This is sweet! Great design work.

That makes sense and it's a sound logic. More than engine heat, I was more wondering how the plastic would stand up to the heat produced by the sun over longer periods of time. I think doing what you did should work. Potentially, it would also help to hit it with a coat or two of satin or matte high heat clear coat for added protection.

You're correct, thanks, and this is the one for my 2002 cab 4 (just like in this photo):

But wow, at $6K+ w/ tax they aren't giving these away are they?

its the “Carrera” wing. I have one on my car. I like it, but not as much as the Aerokit .2 wing…I have considered selling it to fund a swap, but haven’t put much effort looking into it yet.

I've just put the photos, some additional info, and pricing up on my website. Baby steps while we keep debugging the print.

I think both sources of heat top out around 160-200F IIRC. It's going to be close, ABS is good up till around 220F; if you do gymkhana in the Mohave desert on a hot day I can't guarantee that the spoiler stays 100% straight.

There will be more updates guys, thanks for your patience! I haven't taken any photos of all the failed prints we've encountered - a lot of it isn't even interesting, just repeated failures of the same kind. I'll be a happy man when we finally get the Modix to cooperate for the whole 18hrs it takes to print one spoiler.

After looking around, I agree this is a really clean and subtle design, nice work. I have two questions: 1) would the mesh in place of the OEM louvers promote more water getting into the engine compartment while driving in the rain for those of us in more humid environments, and 2) I can't seem to locate your website, could you list it again?

1) No, the mesh sits over the factory spoiler frame (the teatray). The two holes in the teatray for air intake and engine bay hot-air venting, let in exactly as much water as the OEM louvres would.

2) Ah whoops. www.artndvehiclestudio.com I did put up a formal product listing for the spoiler but as we can attest to in this thread, they're not quite ready yet. Cheers!

Just giving this a thread bump to encourage @circuit.heart 's progress. Really (REALLY) want this tea tray!

Hang in there. I want to be among the first when your part is ready.

I appreciate it Print partner is having some landlord troubles and I personally was locked up building a BMW for the last month, so fulfilling existing console delete orders is all we've been able to manage last month. I will find some time to revise the 3D models and see if I can convince the darn Modix to print straight lines.
