Freddworks - 996 C2 OEM+ build
Hi!
My name is Fredrik and I'm from Sweden. I got my first 911 April 1st 2023 after I've sold my S2000 that I had totally rebuilt from stock
So i'm starting with a summarise for the last three months
And the last picture of it before it was exported to Finland
Its a 2000 C2 manual with OEM aerokit, when I bought the previous owner had fitted some Öhlins R/T coilovers
After the 3.5 hour drive back home and a detail it looked like this:
First modification I did was a swapping out the old PCM to a PCCM+
Love it!
Had som parts on order that I wanted to get around to directly
Swapping out the OEM shifter for a Numeric and changing the tail pipes back to OEM instead of the fake turbolooks
During the install:
After:
And swapping out the window bezel for a brand new one, definitely freshens up the car
Ordered a 996.2 Aerokit wing that's currently being painted
Then my wheels finally arrived!
Kinesis Motorsport 3pcs forged
8.5/11 18" with Michelin PS2 tires due to long delivery times on PS4S
After that I removed the old phone holder and got a cup holder and the center console cubby from Rendition
Due to a crack on my air box I found a 997 box on the local junkyard for cheap so I decided to swap it out with a KN airfilter and the resonans delete
Really cleans up the "engine bay"
And today I swapped out the old hand brake handle for a OEM carbon one that I found for a killer deal
To this:
Other then that I just drive it and enjoy it
I'll keep this thread updated with new modifications and other fun stuff
If you want to follow me on instagram its 996works

Looks good.
The mk2 wing on a mk1 car looks pretty good and it will be much better then the current wing... enjoy the miles(km) of smiles.

Freddworks - Welcome to the forum! From the looks of your old S2000, you are far from finished with your personal transformation of the Porsche. I’d like your perceptions comparing the two after you’ve driven some km in the 996. The Kinesis wheels are beautiful. I also swapped out the “Carrera” spoiler for a Ruf and also aero kit II spoiler. I found the smaller spoiler less effective.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Thanks! I've always liked the .2 wing!
Thanks! After three months of ownership, they actually feel quite similar both cars has analog driving feel, but the Porsche has a more premium feeling overall. I'll get back to you on that after my first track day in the 996
Thank you!
Next up is seats, anybody has recommendations for reclinable seats? My dog needs access to the rear seats
The car will bee 95% road driven but the OEM electric seats isn't up to par for a track day

The best options if you like OEM+ are apprently 997 seats, there is a compromise when you switch to the newer seats, as they have Airbags in the bolsters which will not be connected or necessary as the 996 has door airbags. my thinking is well if i get recaros they wont have airbags in them either...
I have yet to install mine, but i went for a 997 seat with as many manual controls as possible, in doing that you probably save a little bit of weight.

I dig what you've got going on with your 996, looks awesome and its going to ride minty with the Ohlins.
I dig the S2K more though, the buyer got a very cool, tastefully modified example.

For seats my friend put the NRG seats in his Mustange. He still uses his 3 point belts for now and really like how they hold him in place. The nice thing about our cars is the seats r super easy to swap out. Just grab a set of seat belt buckles from a junk yard and some brackets and u r all set.

Id look at a set of Recaro Sportster CS's if you need the seatback adjustability. I love the pole positions in my 993 but impossible to get in the back!

Nice ride!
Would fitting a fixed back driver's seat like recaro pole position while.keeping the stock passenger's seat to give your dog access to the rear seat work for you?

Time to learn a new platform

I decided to go for the OEM+ and threw out an ad that I was looking for 997 seats.
And I was offered these, they are nog sitting in my office waiting for me to fit them
They are 997 GT3 sportseats with black leather and alacantara with the Porsche shield and matching color stitching that I have in the car
and now for the most important part in a build thread, pictures!

Passenger side in:
Both fitted and working properly:
And just picture of it!
