AOS Replacement
Im replacing my AOS it's hoses. Will dropping the trans give me an advantage or is it just as tricky with it in? I don't remember how much extra access there was from the last time I had it out.
Thanks

Yes, it's easier without the transmission.
If you're dropping the transmission anyways, then that's the time to do the (U)AOS.

Worth dropping the transmission, or more importantly reinstalling the transmission?
Not in my opinion, but others may disagree.

Post #412, the pictures helped a ton. I just finished this install over the last 2 weekends. It was about 10 hours total for me from start to finish. I also replaced my fuel injectors and the cross over breather tube at the same time.

FWIW, with the engine out,, took me about 20 minutes, mostly tracing the hoses the UAOS gets rid of...
BTW the car seems to burp out excess air better too, totally subjective and I do use a vacuum lift.

I also prefer to do the job dropping engine and trans out allowing to look over everything, replacing injectors and vacuum lines along with inspect all AOS tubings.
I do use a scissor lift.

IMHO, if you're going to drop the transmission then dropping the engine is a few more steps. Take it all out as one and put it back as one (unless you have an RMS leak). All you lose is coolant, PS fluid and your time. You don't even have to take it all the way out. Just drop it a few inches to give you access. You''l then see it from driver wheel well. Unscrew, remove hoses and replace. Lift back up, add back fluids, boom, done. PLUS while it's down/out you can take care a any other items on your "While I'm in there" list Like a water pump, new motor mounts, vacuum hoses, etc.
I did it using my QuickJacks.
