I've been setting aside a dedicated Porsche Fund for years now to replace a 914 I had for 15 years that was lost to an engine fire back in 2005. After years of watching the market and determining I wanted a 997.2 PDK, I ended up learning about the early build MY99s and deciding that spending only 30% of my budget on acquisition left me some manageable wiggle room for what I was getting into.
It's a 6/98 build, cab (a must) and a tip (wife), and OMG have these been few and far between. I'm happy to find a blue one, but originally I wasn't thrilled about the blue/grey interior. But after a four hour drive back at night, I really do like how the interior 'disappeared' and it was all road and the warm glow of the dash.
Drove it straight to Fisher in IL for all the gory details of what I've actually gotten myself into.

Welcome
Word of caution:
Buying and installing the Porsche Umbrella that goes in the passenger side door sill.
You may hear from members on here they have Dyno runs showing 5 HP gain at 1K over Redline
It is not true, it is only 3HP
You have a nice car, there are some really nice folks on this 996 forum
