Default fabcar 996

anyone seen me before? i'm told it is 1/1. but i'm not certain.

custom built by fabcar for Johnson Control in the mid 1990's. mid-engined, paddle shifts, front double a arm setup with linkage. it's a pretty funky little car.

How did they achieve the mid-engine layout? What engine/transmission does it have?

Is this the car? If so it appears to have been tamed a bit, and a new nose installed. Perhaps to get it street legal?

shoot, i think i made a really silly mistake. apparently the chassis is not 996. it's not 993 either it's actually 964!! i think i have the street version of this:

https://www.excellence-mag.com/issue...o-hot-too-late

by i i mean my buddy the owner. i think we'll be attending the reunion at Laguna Seca this year with it. i guess i better change my name to fabcar964 lol.

okay, i'm learning more as well lol.

that excellence article was walking about Fabcar G93... which used 962 gearbox.

our yellow one is 964 chassis, 935 twin turbo setup, and 968 club sports gearbox (i'm scratching my head still) with paddle shift (air actuator assist). anyway we're getting the car ready for a photo shoot and writeup by excellence. more details will be gathered. enjoy for now.

Look at those Penske shocks! Those are the pinnacle, clearly a serious suspension system.

Nice car!

That's Carl Tallardy's 1996 FabCar. He races it in PCA Club Racing.
