Tough to see in my avatar picture, but that's my wife in the passenger seat on the track. That was the only day she went to the track with me. She wanted to see what it was about. She drove as a Novice in the green run group, but I took her out a few times in the black run group as a passenger. She handled the speed, braking and cornering forces well, not to mention the passing which can be pretty close and tight in the black group. She got a kick out of being strapped in tight with the harness and Hans by my race shop and appreciated the "dance" that develops on the track. But after doing it once, she has no interest in doing it again.

But, she does want to trade her convertible Audi in for a Boxster sometime in the next couple of years. Right now she still likes the back seat in the Audi.

Enjoy. We only live once. Better to do it with a Porsche!
Ok, my friend, you started this ball rolling and here is the result. Today she drove this Boxster and she loved it.!!! She fit fine and the visibility forward was more than adequate for her. So....we will own this car ...2014 Boxster S next week. Our 996 is in the background. If you find your way to RI I owe you a good dinner, you and your wife, at a fine restaurant.
Thanks again, and thanks to all the guys who weighed in on this and encouraged me on the car and the travel.
Rick

Rick,

Congrats to you and your wife. The Boxster and your 996 look great. You guys will turn a few heads as you drive around town in your impressive hardware!

My wife is from NY and I am from Phila, so we get to the east coast quite a bit with family. Love RI in the summer! One of these days!

Good thought, and I agree St. Barts will be there next winter...
Thanks

Good looking ragtop, Rick. Large quantities of Husband of the Year (HoTY) points to you. May she enjoy the car in good health. Hope she lets you drive it now and then.

Interesting comment.
Thank you for your good wishes.
I'm already seeing some ownership. She is starting to hint that the 911 is "our"car, and the Boxster is "her" car.Today on the return from MA on remote areas of rte 95 we touched 110 as a 911 Cabriolet wanted to play. And she said "...don't think you are driving "my" car like this..."
Then she said "...will my car do this ?"
I said "sure"
Oh-oh.

At this rate - by her birthday you'll be on your dealer's allocation list for a GT3RS. You know. For her.

Well played Silver. Enjoy the family drives.

Will do. We used to sail over to Star Island Yacht club, and in the winter, spend some nights at Gurney's. But COVID has upset all those plans, then we sold the boat last Spring. I see maybe a Spring trip over on the ferry.
Will let you know.
Thanks
Rick
