The only aftermarket rotor upgrades available off the shelf for the 996 C2 in the UK were Girodisc. Which are a fantastic product, and whilst they're available from a couple of retailers, they not cheap at the best of times, and with the exchange rate in the Summer of '22 further going against the Pound, the prices became ridiculous, so I figured I should engineer some using ALL UK sourced components. That being the rotors, the hats (bells) and the necessary fasteners.
Fronts 340mm :
Tight tolerances ... :
Rears 325mm (the hats/bells retain the E brake functionality) :
They've been on the car 4 months now, they bedded in well and stop the car better than the standard one piece drilled items (even with standard Textar pads installed) and they're a bit lighter than the OE items too. They'll need to be put on a brake dyno and be tested to destruction sometime next year, but in the meantime I'm doing my own "durability" testing whilst I'm working on some other 996development projects.
My 'commute' has no traffic lights, and very little traffic. Wildlife is common, and caution is recommended. #meridianmetallic She's due for a bath. There's 2 trips to YHZ and back worth of bugs on her. Today, soap and a spritz. This morning at Halifax PSC there is a PCA tech event, can't make it tho.
Nice
Similar vibe here, though I have to say I'm somewhat envious, as this road most definitely isn't my daily commute :

Those look fantastic! I’d like to see how they hold up.

Hit 64k on the car and 5k under my ownership earlier this week on a trip to Western MA -- took a celebratory 'early morning dew' photo. Truly gets better with every drive, and am absolutely in love with how the Sport Designs + 15mm spacers look. Next up: suspension upgrades during the winter!
What head unit do you have? I've been wanting a double din unit that would display the Torque app gauges....
BTW your front ambient air temp sensor is out of the holder...I know you don't want it dangling like that..
Thanks, I just found an android radio that i liked the physical look of and than made some hardware and software upgrades to do what I wanted. The pics of the front spoiler are from when I was making it, the bumper came on and off Many times since than, thanks though.
