Default Ever see a Porsche MiG?

Took my son to the Houston Air Show today. Could not confirm the plane number until it landed, but maybe the pilot of this MIG-15 is also a Porsche enthusiast?

Thought it was cool.

I’ve seen the Mooney before. I grew up in Mooney’s hometown in the Texas Hill County. It made all the news back in the day.

With over 1600 hrs. of PIC time and A&P license I have yet seen the Mooney M20L, I've seen pretty much everything else, maybe one year I'll take the time to go to Oshkosh and see one.

I flew one, once, 25 years ago. Very smooth engine. I didn't buy it, I bought a M20K instead. I think Porsche eventually bought back all the PFM engines because of an excessive amount of AD's.

Here is some history on the aircraft…

“This Chinese built MiG-15 was delivered to Chinese Navy as 122071. Originally purchased by Terence G. Klingele on March 23, 1993 it was registered as NX996 and painted/flown in Soviet AF Scheme as 996.”

Currently registered to Marine Aviation Museum (Oct 2015)

It's an old plane so I'm sure it's not too expensive.

I'd expect it to be listed at about $130k.
