2001 C4 vs C2 Price Difference
I actually wouldn't mind a cab but what kills is for me is the aesthetics of the rear window. Coupe just looks much better IMHO. Having said that, I thought the original GT3 actually used the C4 chassis in RWD config because it was more rigid. I think this is why some folks remove the front diff and axles if they are building a track toy.
I haven't driven a cab, so can't provide any feedback on driving feel versus a coupe, but the weight difference is 174 lbs additional for the cab on a C2 (and 165 lbs additional on a C4).

I gotta take the risk of public scrutiny and say that the more I look at that thing the more I like it. If it's as pristine as the mileage and the pictures imply, I don't think it's overpriced.

That is a great question! I don't know. Apparently the hardtop itself weighs 74 lbs (https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...op-weight.html). It's difficult to know whether Porsche included it in there official spec weight for the Cab (Porsche's spec weights for each model are where the 174 lb difference was derived from).
I think the cabs did come standard with a hardtop (with a delete option for something like $1500 credit to the buyer), so it seems more likely than not they would have included it in the base model weight. The answer is pretty important -- means it would be only 100 lbs more for the Cab in convertible form. Of course, if it's not included, then that means the cab would be 248 lbs heavier with the hardtop on.
Hopefully someone knows and will chime in with the answer.

The NC looks better as a convertible + hardtop than the PRHT. Not a fan at all of the PRHT profile.
Weirdly enough, I really dig the 996+hardtop look. I know it's goofy, but it's like, BMW Clownshoe goofy.
