Default Speedbump

After socializing at the end of a Porsche run ,I drove out of this park we were at, and hit an unmarked speedbump. My Porsche slammed to the ground after going over it. Scraped the bottom of the engine too. There was a strange noise after that up front. I have exhausted all of my suspicions. Decided to change the rotors and pads but could not get the retaining screw loose at the rotor hub so we put it back together and drove the car. As I sped up the noise was louder,Definitely a rubbing sound. Upon further inspection I noticed wheel marks on the inside of my front inner fenders. Somehow they were pushed back contacting the tire ,probably from the impact from the speedbump. I have not gone under the car yet. Does anyone have any input as to what might have moved ? Any input will be appreciated.

Probably the fan bracket. Pull wheel, pull liner, hit brack with hammer and reassemble. Double check the pan on the motor and buy a skid.

I don't understand what you want. You ran over an unmarked speedbump and damaged your front end suspension. You want a complete guess? You bent or broke your front LCA's on both sides. Maybe a strut tower is cracked. Stop driving your car, get it up in the air and completely checked out from stem to stern. If you don't know how to do it, now comes the time to pay someone knowledgeable.

After owning three Porsche (one that was factory lowered) cars and going over hundreds of speed bumps, I never lifted off the ground. You must have been flying!

No pun intended.

Well, sounds like you're going to have to get a suspension specialist to examine the front of the car. The impact must have bent something if you noticed contact with the fender well liner. The shocks alone only have so much tolerance. An extreme hard hit will feel like a bang inside the car. If you're hearing rubbing noises, it could be that the front wheels are scraping something, but again, this is a symptom from something being bent, IMHO.

oh, how about posting some images. That would help us, help YOU.

I was not going fast,my car is lowered and it was a surprise speedbump. I went over it and it felt like it hit hard in the front. I plan on having the suspension checked out. I like the idea of a skid plate in the rear, are these available to buy, or is it a custom made part?

Sorry to hear about your dilemma. You can find one on LN's sight. Find yourself a good Porsche Indy to go over every inch of your suspension. We have all been there in one way shape or form. Not fun at all.

I have not been under the car since I heard the noise, but did notice the marks on the inner fender well from the tires coming in contact with it. I briefly drove the car at different speeds, it felt okay as far as handling, but of course the noise gets louder as the speed increases.
I was not driving fast when this occurred, it just caught me by surprise ,and the fact that the car is lowered exascerbates the whole event.
I plan on taking the car in to have it all checked out soon I have other cars and involvement in car shows so time is hard to come by this summer. Thanks for your input.

I need to get the car on a lift to see anything and so far I have not been under it. I like the sound of the skid plate . Someone suggested LN site. What is that? I will buy one if available.

Hey Chic, is this your car? If so, explains it all.

It's very common to bend the radiator support which pushes the fender liner out closer to the wheel. It's quite close already. I'm agreeing with DeJepper, check that too.
