Cool car! Welcome to the group, and the madness. The slope is as slippery as you make it. Have fun with it. Echoing those above, there are a lot of really smart folks here who have been living these machines. Take full advantage. Now get out and drive!

I'm in Alberta but a bit away from the border. Here's a shot of my car. It's come a long way over the last 5 years since I've had it - enjoy the journey with yours! With the age of these cars it'll definitely be a mix of maintenance and modifications. Post more pics when you can!

I thought my graphite grey interior was the worst part of my car when I purchased it.. But over the years I've fell in love with it and appreciate the contrast that it provides with the OBM exterior color.

Congrats on the purchase, OBM is a striking color on any Porsche, the aerokit fits it well.
Exhaust, you can take the mufflers off and drive around the block to see if you'd be okay with muffler delete, I tried it for all of 5 minutes before throwing the stocks back on and bought a set of Billy Boat's (which I love). It's a quick way to a headache and the neighborhood will probably not like you much with no mufflers either. Fister is a popular mod that doesn't break the bank, considering a decent aftermarket exhaust will be around $1,000 and up.
997 shifter I feel the throw is a little shorter, and also a little smoother than the stock shifter. Tried a Schnell SS kit, but it popped out of gear at one point and I didn't have tools to fix it in a truck stop. Didn't want that to happen again, so back to an "OEM" version it was.

The muffler delete option on mine and it’s glorious a slight drone at 2700 rpm that’s quickly gone with a stab of the fun pedal
after it’s warmed up I get zero droning just a symphony of sounds love it

Looks familiar, congrats! I have a Pfister and it's awesome. I upgraded the interior with a bunch of OEM carbon fiber, black leather center console, black leather pieces at the windshield and a bunch more inside. Transformed the interior.

After:
FYI, mine is a 99 with double row bearing, I'm not going to do anything to it but oil analysis and monitor. If it let's go, I'll just get a short block from Porsche and rebuild it. I don't want to spend 20% of that total cost just to change out the bearing.

dude…this car gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. It’s absolutely gorgeous inside and out.
did you re-use your stock steering wheel, dyed and re-wrapped? Where did you get these parts redone? What was involved? I need to do this. It looks phenomenal.

I sent the parts off to Poland for recovering, sent the original steering wheel (have a 996 steering wheel in my 951, so I used it for the time being), sun visors, etc., etc. Here is the post, number 29 shows where I got some of it recovered.
The difference between when I purchased it to now is a huge difference. Was ugly to start, now just awesome. And it's nice that I have the full leather package on my car.

wow, Poland. Is there not a place in the states or more local that you could trust? I would love an alcantara wrapped steering wheel but I’m not sure how long I could last not being able to drive! Lol. Great work though.
