So pleased with the “new” steering wheel!! I’ll miss those little shifter buttons
And another scanner added to the collection haha. Same ease and functionality as my POR 2 but will work on more brands. Already diagnosed the failed parking sensor in my sisters Tahoe. Nowhere near as powerful as my PIWIS though but much more convenient to use for oil service reset etc.
I will definitely say that the low end torque on this thing has improved. I would love to find a local C4S driver to swap out with for a drive to feel the difference.

Not local, but if you ever find your way over towards the Blue Ridge foothills on 421, there’s a decent run of twisty’s south of Wilkesboro to try. My 03 C4S loves them, or maybe it’s just me.

I love that area, will be heading that way for a long weekend in May!
Well this is a kick to the gut. Had no symptoms at all so no idea when it happened. Removed the underside pans to do the 2WD “conversion” and the broken piece fell out to the floor. I was like WTF and had to figure out where it came from.
No vibrations, no hard shifts, no noises, nothing. At all.
Possible to get it rewelded? Or do I need to hope and
find someone with a broken transmission and get a replacement housing?
It it were me i would pull the trans and weld it up. Then have an aluminum band bent around and welded as a reinforcement. Any decent machine shop can do this and hone the bore to make sure the mount fits correctly. Or its a good time to swap in a 2wd trans? Bummer either way.
I figure that break is either from a crack started during a trans mount install or even corrosion between the mount and case causing it to swell. 2nd case i have seen do that.
Strange... Good chance that didn't just bust up on its own. Something caused it to break.
Might want to try and figure out the why, before it could happens again..?
Didn't you just convert from automatic to 6 speed, or am I confusing your project with someone else..?

2WD transmission would be easier to find and cheaper but I want to keep the option for making it AWD again easily. Especially if I sell it. Just changed the bushing a few months back and it went in super easy, and all the bolts slid in easily afterwards. Only thing I can thing ok is that there was a stress fracture internally, and everything just made it fail. I didn't force anything on the install and feel I woulf have heard/felt the snap as well. Weird.

jmo
you're correct, this is the car that I just converted from tip to a manual. All factory parts used and everything bolted together smoothly. Even the engine mounts are new.
