I sent a query to Porsche of San Diego to see what their bumper price would be. I guessing it will be $3,000+.

I had been looking up
996-505-980-02-G2X
best price was just under $5k at my local dealer which tends to have pretty good prices

that's how I ended up at Rose Passion

but now looking up this part #
996-505-980-03-G2x
priced at just over $1800 at the same dealer
listed as 2000-2002 boxster s w ground effects
but as seen by my pics above, it's obviously the same as the 996.1 aerokit front bumper

need to make a list of similar part #s so can shop around more effectively
that is a great price.

Okay, it was a little cheaper than I expected. Apparently the parts guy thought it was a great price though since he shouted it at me.

Does the aerokit bumper need an air inlet on the inside?

This part:

I ask as I don't see it in the repair manual diagram for the aerokit/gt3 front bumper:

whereas it is there for the regular front bumper (#11):

My 996.2 Aerokit bumper had something similar that I had to cut when I installed my center radiator.

I had to cut the piece out of my aerokit 1 frott bumper too. Also, i just fitted a mk3 gt3 splitter to the bottom. Although it fit decently, the mounting is different and inhad to drill all new holes.

Wont fit, u have a mk1 front. If u convert the fenders, lights and plastic bits it can be done but at a high cost.

Edit: just looked closer. That is an mk1 bumper....so if u can find one yea it should fit.

My mk1 aero front.

Yes, either should fit.

Get whichever you can find for the best price - last time I checked 996-505-980-03-G2x was the cheaper of the two locally.

can you confirm again which part you bought. Was it the 02 or 03 part number. 03 does not have hole for centre rad right? I don’t have a centre rad on my model.

Yes - the one I got from Rose Passion is 996-505-980-03-G2x and does not have the center rad cutout removed. Can see the pics in post 21 above.
