I don't know much about 996.1 GT3/Aerokit bumpers, but the part numbers I have for 996 bumpers are:

Front bumper:

996.505.311.04 -01
996.505.311.06 02-
996.505.980.02 -01 Aerokit
996.505.980.06 02- Aerokit

Rear bumper:

996.505.411.08 -01
996.505.411.12 02-

Search for "Porsche 996 GT3 used" on eBay and you'll find LOTS of non-GT3 used parts listed as fitting a GT3.
When I looked a few months ago, almost every used M96 engine part was listed as fitting a GT3.

Will definitely be careful. Although, this bumper is for a 996.1 not a 996.2.

Great to hear that MAShaw/Getty Design makes great quality pieces. I actually spoke with Mike from MAShaw the other day about the aerokit 1 front bumper and the aerokit 1 or "taco" wing. The aerokit 1 front bumper that they sell requires some slight modification to the front bumper support and may need a bit more time with fitment. The wings and tailbases are what they specialize in so they require less modification for fitment, especially if you pay for the primer service as they fit the tailbase and wing onto a mock version of your car to improve fitment.

I opted for the primer service and recommend it!

Ended up going with an OEM aerokit1 front bumper from Rose Passion in France - still the cheapest option despite shipping. Thanks Ninewonwon for the tip! Off to body shop for paint.

Qs:
-I know there's a round plug for the tow hook cutout, but are there plugs for the license plate bracket holes?
-what is the correct lower lip/splitter for this bumper?

thanks, M

Interestingly carries 2 part #s (sticker vs embossed on back side). Have seen both referenced for 996.1 gt3/aerokit front bumper covers.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the total cost including shipping from France to California?

I see the parts sticker has '996.505.980.03.G2X'. In your first post you referenced '996.505.980.02.G2X' which I thought was correct for Mk1 cars. The '02' version is $3,000 more than the '03' version at US dealerships. Does anyone know what the differences are?

It's part # 996.505.986.00. I paid $118 in 2017 and I see it's now ~ $380 . You also need the fasteners, part # 999.507.427.40 (66¢ each in 2017)

Despite being in California it's whole life, my car has never had a front plate. I always assumed my plugs were OEM but I can't be sure.

SoCal911t - it was $1863 with shipping. By far the best price I found for an OEM bumper.

Not sure about the part # differences. But it appears to be OEM and correct.

Thx for the lower spoiler/splitter part #. It also seems to have gotten really pricey. Will have to shop around. Anyone know if an aftermarket version for the lower spoiler/splitter exists? I've only seen the turbo/4s ones.

The gt3 lower lip is now discoed. Demon Speed is gonna be producing a repro as soon as their dies r made. They have a preorder going now.

https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-gt3-forum/1224815-996-cup-splitters-pre-purchase-through-demon-speed.html

The mk2 Gt3 bumpers seem to be stronger and the cut outs have a reinforcent part that clips in. It just seems to be constructed better.

Thanks. I see some of the cheaper dealer sources have it for $1,810 but there's still a $150-ish in sales tax. Also, since Porsche of San Diego has insane mark-up on parts, the best I could do would be Circle Porsche in Long Beach which would be a 200 mile round trip with the added fun of LA traffic.
Looking forward to seeing pics of your bumper on the car once it's painted.

There are so many similar part #s, it's confusing.

I had been looking up
996-505-980-02-G2X
best price was just under $5k at my local dealer which tends to have pretty good prices

that's how I ended up at Rose Passion

but now looking up this part #
996-505-980-03-G2x
priced at just over $1800 at the same dealer
listed as 2000-2002 boxster s w ground effects
but as seen by my pics above, it's obviously the same as the 996.1 aerokit front bumper

need to make a list of similar part #s so can shop around more effectively

The only difference I see is that the $5000 version has the opening for a center radiator already cut out.

I think you're right.

Don't have a center rad, but if/when added - a little dremel work and save $3k!

And on the website for those images (teile.com), the prices are the opposite! crazy.
