Question Tiny water droplets and weird yellowish residue in oil filler tube

Hi all,
Just checked and topped off oil (Mobil 1 0W-40) and I found water droplets underneath oil filler cap and inside the fill tube also see a creamy yellowish weird residue as well.
Just came back from a 700 mile trip in VA. Car seems to be running fine.
Any thoughts as to what is happening??
Thanks a ton
Cortland

That's normal. The hot gases from the hot engine will cool down and humidity will form. You can see that in the filler cap.

I had that yellowish curd looking residue too when first picking up my new C4S. But after 500 miles or so it all burned off like my service advisor said it would.

Said it was condensation from the number of short start and stop driving they do with new cars coming out of the factory to get on truck, on boat, off boat, on truck, etc.

Whoa! This is really, really weird. A good friend of mine called me about this very subject and he has the same exact car as you do! WOW! Small world.

Yep, it's normal.

Seems that after a 700 mile trip the condensation would all be gone.

They call it mayonaise....entrained water vapor that boils off when you drive it hard

Mostly seen in the winter months or by old ladies that own performance cars

My guess that the car is not driven alot on a regular basis, the goo is common on cars that do not get exercised enough.

Small amount on top of oil filler tube is normal especially in winter, but see your dealer if you find your oil turn milky.

Thanks all. Oil looks normal, smells normal. I don't dive the car that much, but thats all changing. And the 700 mile trip I recently took was the longest I think I have done. Car has 6200 miles on it now and runs fine. I will change factory oil this week.

Hi, I have just joined and am about to take delivery of a 06/03 C2 with 7000 miles on it. Found the same dijon mustard inside the oil filler and walked away from the sale - an official Porsche dealer (UK). This will be my fist Porka. Now find that this seems to be normal, hope everyone is right!!?? Adrian996 (UK)
