Default Road trip gone a muck

Stop for dinner at a restaurant and find this happened. No note, no nothing.

Does it look like the bumper was bondo’d Before or is that normal?

Yes, that has been repaired previously. I would have checked with local business for any security camera. some people just suck.

At least it was the bumper. Easiest to replace, paint match not as critical.

That sucks. I've been hit three times while parked but I was there when it happened each time, so I didn't have to pay the deductible. I'm guessing you'll be stuck with that,

This is confirmation of my parking psychosis (which my wife absolutely loves) which causes me to park far, far, away from wherever it is I’m going, if there is a option, just to stay away from the other cars. Don’t let it ruin your trip, imminently fixable when you get home.

Hopefully insurance picks up. I’m guessing at least 2k to do it right. Guard red supposedly is tough to blend so see if they can get it to match the fenders. It did before.
Otherwise, 400 miles and the car just ate it up. Great run.

Lol at 2k to do it right. Someone has been ripping you off. 500 is the high end, just make sure they don't do a melt.

Not sure who’s doing your work but the bumper alone in 2,100 from Porsche. Not sure they make a stock aftermarket. Yes I could fiberglass it in my garage but I think it deserves a little better than that.
Insurance guy agreed to new bumper. Spray bumper and hood. Found a shop my indie recommended. Guy is supposedly Porsche certified. Whether that means anything at all in terms of quality, I don’t know. I think it would help if I go to sell though.

When I do this I end up with some "reclaimed from the scrap pile" parked next to me! Someone being funny or just hateful. It's just a car and can be repaired.

I have color tinted guardsmen red many times for an exact match. I would not blend, because what ever panel is blended, the whole panel must be clear coated.

Find a shop that can do it right!

I am telling you what the insurance guy said, the shop might be doing what you recommended.

As mentioned, my Indie recommended the shop and he's (the indie) pretty well know dude in the Northeast region so I am good with that.

I spoke to shop. Basically they need to blend the fenders and hood. So they take off the clear, blend and reclear. It might work out for the better because I had some flaws in my clear coat on one of the fender. Fingers crossed.

Personally, with all that bondo apparenlty already used on the bumper cover, I'd replace it (w/an OE or more interesting aftermarket bumper cover) rather than repair it.

It's getting a new bumper. Existing is going in the trash bin.

DO NOT DO THIS. This is what is known as a melt. They all fail eventually. I see the picture on a computer now, and yeah, you need a bumper, but do not do a blend/melt.
