You make me want to hold off a little longer before installing the UAOS to make sure I capture all the improvements being released!

I can understand, the good ideas just keep rolling out,I can't help myself, it's just what I do, problem solve ( patting myself on the back) and these have been around for about two decades..But I have no new improvements planned, all my time and effort will be focused on expanding coverage to 997 986 987 and to increase in production. If improvements happen, they happen. but I have no more planned for the UAOS, it's good right where it's at.

Although I do have another Invention I have been working on a for a few months to solve another long standing 996 issue, can't talk about it yet though..

Should I wait for that before installing the UAOS?

Nope, don't put off till tomorrow, what you can do today !!

There will be no "backtracking" involved it is a different issue and nothing to do with UAOS/crankcase vent system, that's all I can say at this point.

Skip, great to hear there is more cooking in the kitchen for us! I got my kit recently - thank you!

Seeing the coolant bypass I'm definitely intrigued and may want to implement this as I'll be installing the kit soon. It seems to simplify the system and removes a chance of coolant leaks there. Had one question - I suppose Porsche implemented a cooling system on the AOS for a reason. Would removing it cause any potential issues when running the car hard in the midst of the summer with high humidity? I'm sure you thought of it but I'd like to understand this more. Thanks!

plpete84 - it wasn't for cooling the AOS - on the 911 - it was for HEATING the AOS. Water vapor that is sucked from the engine case, when in freezing temperatures could freeze in the AOS, preventing it from working. The coolant thru the AOS was used for de-icing. If I recall correctly, the Boxster did not have coolant flow thru the AOS, as the placement in the Boxster prevented icing without the warmth of the coolant.

Yes, Tom is exactly correct, thank you.!!

plpete84 no worries in hot weather, or even in cold weather when the UAOS is used, the high velocity pressure drop is moved to near the throttle body, a nice warm spot.

Cool - thanks for the correction! I'll see if I can eliminate those parts during the install.

It seems like you're essentially plugging the 2 ports on the top of the sealed AOS unit and then 2 more, end of #12 hose and #20 elbow piece, right past that plastic junction that likes to break. Count that as another weak point being eliminated.

Correct...That OEM plastic connector was improved with the URO All Aluminum one, but the UAOS by-pass eliminates that and much more, simple is better ...

I just talked with my indy about installing the UAOS in a few months along with replacing all injectors on my 996 4s. I will wait until after 4/11 and order the newest kit. I assume it comes with all the necessary instructions for him to follow? He hadn't heard about your invention and works on almost nothing but Porsches.

Thanks

This doesn't surprise me,how would he have heard ? I bet he has heard of how failure prone the POS Factory AOS is...lol

Yes comes with instructions for the UAOS install.

What is significant about 4/11 ? It's my birthday !!! I am putting the "coolant by-pass kit" in all the ones I am currently building ,but have some already "boxed" that will have to be "re-boxed" and don't like to be put under the gun..

I can't imagine the right size plugs costing more than $2 at a hardware store. Just need to get the right sizes. That's my plan as I got my UAOS last week and glad I waited with the install.

Two of them are high temperature and not cheap. Don't think the hardware store will have them.

I’m sure he’ll take care of us one way or another. Ship it to us separately or tell us where to get it.
