I've already read those FAQs. The suggestion by the other guy on how to search rennlist with Google is a good one. I'm going to try that.
"Modern web interfaces" translates to young inexperienced output of 20 something web programmers who are to arrogant to follow standards.
Any programmer that writes code that doesn't respect a standard browser function should be beaten down with his keyboard.. Probably hit on my biggest pet peeve in all of the internet. its a ANSII freeking standard for pete's sake.. Its that way to help prevent other issues.. We have enough random activity from the differences between the browsers as it is..

I was searching brake post's and saw You commented in this three year old thread >https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...l#post16376695 It "triggered" you, and started this topic.

The qualifications that I have to contribute to this thread is that I'm a beloved 996 owner and I have achieved "addict" status. I really like reading this forum for both knowledge and entertainment.

I can read a simple post and predict if a firestorm is going to result. I don't understand why such emotional responses result in a common guy asking a simple question. Yes, the OP may not be as learned as you or as experienced as you but often the response to a simple question challenges the OP's intelligence, motives, expertise, etc.etc.

The search function - you're being a bit disingenuous if your stance is that it works well on this forum.

I'm in the Traning & Development business and I hear the same questions over and over. In fact, I know what questions I should be asked during each session I'm delivering. What if I got angry because someone asked me that same question that was asked in a previous class, session, module, etc. I was of the opinion that the purpose of the forum was to share information and to fellowship.

I sincerely appreciate the advice that the experts and "long timers" provide to the forum. Without the benefit of your expertise and experience, this forum would not be as successful as it is. Please help us to get to where you are without belittling me or ridiculing me or just telling me to use the search function.

Remember, you were not always as knowledgeable as you are today - it was journey. Help me while I'm on my journey.

"...and I have achieved "addict" status".

Honors and benefits. Already at the age of nine.

The issue isn't that the OP was asking a simple question. The issue is that the guy knows how to do it but is too hip for the room and wants other people to find the information for him.

I have a feeling the chilly responses OP received on this thread were a result at least in part of other threads/posts Brian996 has made since joining RL recently. Guy came across as arrogant and dismissive and posts were often unintelligible.

This has been my observation. Plenty of good advice has been given to him, yet he refuses to believe or accept it. Preferring to moan that he doesn't get enough respect. Sorry kid, respect is earned. Keep trying...

Brian, this thread was clickbait. Here I come to celebrate using the search tool and - boom - I come to find out it's a troll post.

Also, you would never, ever make me angry. You're an absolute gem.

Yeah, but it's the great threads like this that keep me coming back to the 996 forum, even though my 996 is long- since departed. Fun stuff!

It's threads like this one that make me visit the 996 forum less and less...…..and I still own a 996.
Oh wait, I just clicked on the thread again, didn't I.

Some people are so lazy that they demand others to the work (search in this case) for them and they thing that's perfectly OK. When I need information, I put all my efforts into looking for it and ONLY if I can't find it, I might post a thread asking for some guidance. Yes, there are several threads that go sideways but so what? Keep reading all of it and you will eventually find what you are looking for. Even the garbage posts are worth reading if for nothing more than to see or understand all the confusion that some problems create. After that, you should have enough info to figure out what to or not to do but some people are so incapable of doing anything without someone holding their hands (or wiping their a$$) that they feel they are entitled to demand others do the work for them for FREE! The OP is a contractor, how the heck can not he/she see the problem asking for other to do the work for for free?

Sorry, but people who have been here a while are only trying to keep the "which oil" or "which IMSB" threads down to 5 a day. You may not like the answer, but I also like a front page that actually has useful threads . I don't find the search on here too hard to use, and more often than not I find multiple threads on the issue I'm having. Just to address your post, 1) is rarely true given how many times questions are repeated, and 2) doesn't make a ton of sense. How many different words are there for oil?

Your threads go zero to ****show in record time, I'll say that for you. Maybe its not us that has the problem

It's much better to just burn strangers' time in forums than bother reading/learning on your own?

"DIY" - "do it yourself" - can apply to the whole process...

You might even find that you learn stuff from reading a few of those 300 posts.
