The "Ultimate AOS Solution"

PT3 has been around for too long to worry about trolling. I like the idea a lot. One look at the 997 AOS placement tells me Porsche whiffed on the 996 AOS location.

So could I then do this with an AOS of dubious condition and have a working system? I guess I would need to make certain no dirt has gotten past the diaphragm (if that is broken) or at least clean the innards?

Right. This AOS Solution leaves the part of the AOS that works great and doesn't fail in place, but moves the part that is notorious for failing to the most accessible place, and is rebuildable for near to nothing...

If the old AOS has failed it will have dirt sucked into, so best to replaced with my pre-sealed "lifetime AOS'"that comes with the kit

Wow, I’m definitely interested in a plug and play kit.
My AOS has started to fail.
I’ve been keeping an eye on it regularly.

@Porschetech3 First, thank you for your innovative "cheap key" fix. And now this?! I'm in! And will be spooning some cheddar your way without hesitation. I am just learning this week about what a weak link the AOS is, and what a PITA replacement is, and along comes your solution. Bravo. And FWIW, I believe in karma and the Porsche Gods.

What do you recommend using to plug the atmosphere port?
RTV silicone?
Since were disabling the internal diaphragm, is there any reason to not use a cheaper AOS?
Maybe use a Üro AOS instead?

This is a nice solution for easy maintenance of the AOS vacuum protection system.
But I am of the opinion It does not solve the dangers of sudden oil injection direct into the intake.
So far it is a maintenance solution but certainly not ultimate in my view.
