Leaking roof drains (https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ow-to-fix.html) was the thread, and since the car stays inside unless driven, I wouldn't have known of a blockage if it rained, and if the car got wet on the floorboards the assumptions might have caused a lot of extra steps.
However, doing the front-to-rear inspection also included checking the drain ports that are inside the rear wheel liners (front side) and found this: easy to clean out, and ready for another 20 years of dust and stuff collecting. Thank you for posting this. I wanted to check when I changed my rear tires a couple weeks ago but it completely slipped my mind. Sounds like a good thing to do this weekend.
Yeah, these 996s are enthusiast cars now, like the old air cooled SCs and 3.2 Carreras were 15 years ago. Which means people love working on them, doing maintenance, improvements, repairs. And Rennlist is the best.
