Does Muncie guy have some 996.2 case halves, and some tail lights for sale too? The local SLC guy claims to, and advertising "come have a look", and not offering shipping.. Is your guy asking for prepayment? Just want to make sure you're all good. I have no stake, and no time to go call SLC guy's bluff this week.

From SLC seller's other add (address and all):
"The item is available during the garage sale located at S456 SanSAvino Way. Stop by to take a look and pick up and make an offer – cash only. Will not answer any text messages."
Address should be 7456 not S456. Looks legit to me.

a 996 with an aero kit is totally worth it, looks much better otherwise I would not have bought my 996. I think cars with an OEM factory aero kits should sell for at least 5k more than one with the same condition without it.

Could be Aero Kit II with GT3 style wing or Carrera Aero II with Carrera style wing
Same front bumper cover and skirts on both
There is one or two threads on this here in the 996 forum

What I can tell you is that my friend put a factory taco wing on his 2000, but did not change the front bumper, he says it becomes slightly unstable at speeds greater than the speed limit. If you do this, make sure you do both the front and the back. And I love the look of the factory aero kit, but I migh be biased.

^^ Says the guy with the aerokit car ^^ Well that's certainly an unbiased opinion Eh... $5k premium? Good luck with that...I don't think sales data would support it

Hard to say but people either love the 911 for the toned down sports car it can be, or love the motorsport look offered by the aero kit.
i dont think its an even 50/50 split either...

I agree, there isn't a $5k increase over non-aero cars all other things being equal. Which makes them a deal for those of us who are aero-oriented. There is likely a large cadre of buyers who shun the aero. Good for them, more aeros for us!
