Default OEM Aero kit "worth it"?

I've always liked the look of the OEM Aero kit, and found one thats available for sale but cannot go pick it up until the end of next month (a couple states away) and dont want to miss out on a good deal. Does the kit actually improve aero and create a more stable ride?

At highway speeds and at most speeds we'll ever drive on the street, no.

But I know that every time I look at mine and then take it for a drive it gives me a boost and puts a grin on my face.

So yeah, it's worth it.

I can't speak to much of the performance enhancements of the aero kit as I don't drive my car at speeds that any form of the aero kit would make a huge difference.

But in regards to aesthetics , it adds so much to the look of a normal 996, to me that fact alone makes it worth it pending the price you are getting it.

Whut they saided. It drastically improves the whole stance and dynamic of the looks.

BTW, when Lambo added the big wing to the back of the Countach, it slowed the car down about 6MPH. Also didn't improve the handling or cornering. No one cared......

I really really like the look, but i'm wondering if its something I should move to the top of my list as I need to do some body work anyway, or if I should hold off lol

About $4500 by the time I drive out to pick it up and come back. Its painted in my cars color so it may even just be a bolt on affair...

"It drastically improves the whole stance and dynamic of the looks."

I'll give you the looks part, but on it's own, it (the aero-kit) does nothing to "improve the stance"... That would be suspension related.

I simply love the look of it. I can say this - adjusting the blade did nothing (not even at a track environment). Getting rid of the taco in place of a BFW, front splitter, and canards made a very large difference.

Short answer - the aero is mainly for sweet, refined, classy, sporty looks.

thats the other part of the equation. I just installed new ROW M030 setup and im pretty sure it would look too high at that ride height.

Can't stand the aero kit. Looks like add on crap from Autozone.

If you install the proper front bumper and lip from the Aero and have already installed the ROW M030, you aren't going much lower without scrapping the lip at each bump.

^^ That may be a little over the top Personally, I've never been a fan of the "taco" wing, but I do like the MKI aero front bumper - problem is, if you do the front, the pop up wing doesn't give you enough down-force at high speeds so you need some sort of wing to balance the high speed aerodynamics.

I'll make sure to spend as much time on this as it deserves.

I love the aero kit. I think time has been very good to it. That means the sides, rear bumper sides, front and wing. There is an OEM one in Utah for sale for 3500. Could probably be had cheaper.
it is only a cosmetic upgrade and "worth it" can only be answered by the buyer.
