Can anyone ID this coolant hose
Hello,
am I crazy or does this look like it's about to explode? Can anyone provide a part number? I've gone through the parts diagrams and just don't have confidence. It's rear of the engine.
thanks!

What year and model? There are many coolant hoses as seen here http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=105-05
Would help if you can get a picture a little bit farther out as well.

If it was cracked it would leak coolant. That being said, it is usually the nipple for the AOS coolant hose that breaks first. And yes, it is a 20 year old coolant hose that will ground you at the worst time, so just get a new one and replace it. Peace of mind...

Be aware that they switched around the replacement parts for these hoses for the 1998 and 1999 models. Sometimes you have to swap the hard pipe as well

New Water pump hose: 996.106.850.05
Old hard pipe: 996.106.243.51 AS01
