What are the stock Tire Size for the Mk1 996 with 18" Wheels?
I am going to buy some Michelin Pilot Sport 4S for the car.....tire rack has a $100 rebate right now for four of them. I was going to pull the trigger, but then I was thinking 265 on the rears were not correct. It says the OEM tire size is 265/35/18. Then I go to discounttire.com and it shows 285/30/18 is the OEM tire size.
The 285/30/18 is right size, correct?
I know the front is 225/40/18 is the correct size. Thanks!

The 265/35R18 is the correct size for a 1999 C2. A 285/30R18 will fit a 10" wide wheel so you should be able to use it with no issues,
bear in mind the 285 is about a .5" shorter in height and your speedo will be off about 2 mph.

The only problem with the 285 is that they are not available in the Pilot Sport 4S in the correct size.
I am away on business.....going to see what size I have installed on my rears tomorrow when I get home.

I run 265/35/R18 Bridgestone Potenzas on the rear and 125/40/R18 on the front on my ‘99 C2. Softer tire, smoother ride and last longer than the 7k miles I was getting out of the original Conti tires.

Is the size difference acceptable for your C4? I don't know what the 225/40 diameter is but the data is out there.

315 will physically fit on the rim but clearing everything takes a pretty specific offset on the rim and fender rolling on a narrow body. On a wide body its easier. I have 63mm offset holly twists on mine with a 295 tire. Most likely going to a 305. The other issue i have is the car is lowered close to 1.5" this complicates things and forces me to have 1.5-2.5* of camber to tuck everything in.

I am running 235/40-18 (25.4 in. OD) on the front and 285/35-18 (25.9 in OD) on the rear. M. Pilot Sport 4S on my C4. This is less than a 2% difference between front and rear. If I remember, the Lore says less than 4% is OK.

I have 315/25/19 rears, I have ZERO rub on a 19x11. I've run both et65 and et50 rear wheel, I'm also lowered 1". Both scenarios did not rub. You could easily fit 315/30/18 on an 18x11 rear, especially MKII.

Bumping this one back up. Picked up some MY02 5 spokes stock tire size is 285/30/18. Anyone fit a 265/35/18 on the 5 spokes? I prefer the narrower tire as I like to feel the car move around and actually don't it to be super planted.

Just doing some comparison of sizes and I'm wondering if anyone has tried 235/40R18 Front and 265/35R18 Rear on Turbo Twists.
The Revolutions per mile are within .4% and, from what I can ascertain, will actually help speedo accuracy.
I'm preparing to replace my current 225/40R18 and 265/40R18 on my car.
Thanks in Advance
