Default Mystery buttons and switches

My 1999 911 didn't come with an owner's manual. So, I've been unsure about what certain switches/buttons in the car do. For example, what does the switch below the turn signal switch (left side of steering wheel) do? It seems like it changes what is displayed below the digital speedometer (the one below the tachometer). Is that all it does? What do the different displays signify? Also, what are the buttons to the right of the seat that are labeled M, 1, 2, 3? Lastly, is there a button to manually raise the spoiler on a 99 C2? It seems that other 911s have one, but I haven't been able to find one in my 911.

I couldn’t figure out the round k *** that looks like a cigarette lighter with a pictogram of a windshield on it. Turned it, tried to push it and pull it, expected rear wiper engagement, or washer squirting, but nothing. Finally discovered it’s the speed control for intermittent wiper operation.

Send me your email address and I forward a pdf of the 2003 manual - many similarities between Mk1 and Mk2.

Read through the comments in this thread. Lots of useful things that the owners manual never mentions.

Check eBay for an owners manual.

This is an electronic copy of the 2003 manual, most of the features/functions are the same so its a good place to start.

Admittedly I read it cover to cover out of sheer excitement when I bought my car
