Passenger seat power height adjustment won't work - All other adjustments do...?
Hi all,
I did a search to try to find out more information regarding my problem, but I couldn't come across any topics that were the same problem as mine.
The passenger seat in my 2000 911 coupe (2WD) is having an issue. The height adjustment won't work. Front and forward, and recline work just fine, as does the front "tilt" adjustment. But the seat height adjustment does nothing. Oddly enough, when you try to adjust it, you can clearly hear the motor working, but there is zero movement.
Has anyone experienced this issue before? Any ideas on what the problem may be or how to fix it?
Thanks guys.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a cable between the motor and the gear under the seat that failed. Lift up the seat and see if it’s failed, was a pretty easy fix and I think the part wasn’t too expensive.

I have the same problem too, But, sometimes after a while (months) of not trying to adjust the height, if I try it it will work. And, when it isn't working it is usually in the highest position and won't go down.
Any pics of the cable which needs to be replaced and where under the seat it is located? And, does the seat need to be removed?
Thanks

I have the exact same with my 99 coupe. Been on my ‘to do’ list for at least 3 years. I can probably coax the rear up by shoving the cable home. So, I have the same question as Artie WRT having to remove the seat to get at it.
Thanks

This is what I remember from doing this a couple months ago:
Need to change part number 5, 99652160900. It is held in place with two small bolts on the gear end. The other end is just inserted on the motor.
Remove the four bolts holding the seat in place. Tip the seat backwards into the rear compartment. The cable is easy to find, identify, remove and replace.
Reinstall seat. Enjoy going up and down in your seat.
