I am building a 996TT engine right now, and the thrust control surfaces of the IMS were shot after 42,000 miles. It also had 6 bent rods, so it lived a hard life, with a ton of boost. This wear can also be found with other Mezger engines, as the 4.1 engine I just finished (based from an M64.02) had the same layshaft wear.

OP said the IMS bearing is not an issue, which is still true despite the Macsteresque post. He did not say the Turbo does not have an IMS; he said the bearing isn't an issue.
Radio noise typically affects AM more than FM. If you are only getting noise on a certain FM channel, that suggests RF interference more than, say, alternator whine or some other issue that can be solved electrically/electronically.
Do you get the same interference on the same station in a different car at the same location? I didn't hear what you're describing in the MPEG file - I'll listen again at home with headphones.
I love crapping in threads MORE than the next guy, but did OP really need a diatribe about the IMS in his "my Turbo has radio interference" thread? Or was St. Raby just in need of a little extra attention this morning?

Answers to some of the more pertinent questions.
OP, it would help if you posted the type of becker radio we're dealing with. And, does the noise still happen when the car is NOT running?
the photo of the system is attached. noise does not happen when running. just when engine is on. But it is not a noise that is constant oscillation the changes with rev's, literally sounds like random squelches (hear audio file)
Do you get the same interference on the same station in a different car at the same location?
Nope . this station comes in clear on my other cars.

If it's only on one frequency, I have trouble believing it's a wiring/ground/connectivity issue. It's got to be interference, either from an external source or something intermittently broadcasting in the car, though I have no idea what that could be. Aftermarket TPMS, maybe?
