Default Key Fob Remotes Upgraded for 993 TT - New Project

Hi everyone,

We designed and manufactured a newly upgraded 993 key fob remote.

It is a complete redesign with the latest technology available, but it keeps the original design to hold the car’s overall classic appeal and value.

As you can see it uses a Li-Ion battery for a longer lifetime. We added intelligent software features for ease of use and user feedback.

We'd wanted to wait longer before announcing this but we thought that it would be good to get your feedback right now. What do you guys think?

If are interested you can add yourself to the Waiting List for when we release these Upgraded Porsche 993 Key Fob Remotes. (We will limit this to 25 people in order to pay close attention to everyone's suggestions and concerns.)

https://ecudoctors.wufoo.com/forms/p...-waiting-list/

Please share this with anyone that could benefit from this project.

###UPDATE 3/31/2017 11:30AM

The Waiting List got filled up with the first 25 Customers that we needed to work with in our trial period.

Thanks so much for those that signed up! We'll definitely give you guys something special for being first!

Expect an email from us with prices, features and options.

For those of you who want to want to get in on the (2nd) group of customer sign up here on this new form: https://ecudoctors.wufoo.com/forms/2...ey-fob-remote/
###UPDATE 4/28/2017 9:30AM

Morning guys! We just put the Porsche 993 keyless entry key fob remotes up for sale on eBay yesterday.

So you can get them here now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-Keyl...8AAOSwJ4hY~8BY

We are also selling the plastic Cover "shells" for those that just want to replace the cover for a new look

Here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-...MAAOSwTM5Y78mD

If you need any help with programming them, or getting your car's 4-digit Immobilizer PIN code let me know.

As I said on the 993 Forum, please be clear on the advantages, why would I go this way rather than the tried and true Porsche FOB? I am not saying this is not worth it, but from your web site:

-Li-ion battery lasts 250% longer
* I get years out of my fobs and the batteries are cheap

-Intelligent transmitter (1 short click sends all the info needed)
* so does the stock one - what is the "intelligent" part - did I miss something here?

-Battery charge level monitoring - LED warning
* good feature

-100% compatible with the original system
* well so is the original system!

-Same Original Manufacturer look
* well so is the original system

The main pain is not the FOB, but the immobilizer - cure that and you will have a huge hit.

What is the price point?

Cheers,

Mike

Mike,

Thanks for opening up the conversation and bringing those points.

On price point I will know this Friday the 31st. It'll definitely be better price than one from the dealer.

In terms of the features:

We get 100s of key fob remotes sent to us from customers all over the world when we do 993 ECU jobs. We've noticed that the mid to low charge levels of the batteries they come with highly affect the range of the signal of the remote. So we always replace them to ensure reliability and consistency.

By going with a Li-Ion battery we can outlast a nickel battery by more than a factor of 2, and the price is still around $2.

We programmed the processor of the remote to remain active sending the signal to the car until all of the data is transmitted. With the original remote this is not always the case if you release the button too soon.

In terms of curing the Immobilizer, do you mean something along the lines of "removing" it?

If so, we already do that also: http://www.ecudoctors.com/porsche-99...removal-2.html

If that is not what you meant let me know because I'm sure that we can offer or create something easily now that we have R&Ded the whole system so much.

I like the idea of competition from an ideological point of view even if my fobs work well. One doesn't really need a battery level indicator. The range decreasing from 15 or so feet with a fresh battery let's ya know.

If you need a new/spare, this seems like a no brainer. I assume you can diy program it into the ecu like the stock one. I for one am really glad and grateful there are vendors making things for (and repairing ecu's) our old cars.

Yes, you can still program is yourself, (or your mechanic can do it for you) just like with the original - the procedure is exactly the same.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. This is one of the things that we think about about often; how can we improve and innovate the technology on these cars, but keep it feeling and looking like an original classic?

Does this key house the key blade like the porsche housing or is it just an alarm remote?

This style 993 key fob remote that we are offering cannot hold the key blade like the other casing called the "swicthblade" that looks like this:

HOWEVER, the circuit board does fit perfectly into the switchblade housing in the case that you want to replace it and keep the oem casing.

We made you this video that shows and explains the fitment.

Yes.

We'll need your car's Immobilizer module (Part no. 993.618.159.02) and all the remotes that you have to do what you want.

The Immobilizer looks like this:

And it's under the driver's seat:

Please fill out this form and include it in the box with the fobs and immobilizer.

3-5 days is our normal turn-around time from the moment the ECU set gets here.

Now in Spring is when we start getting really busy since everyone is getting their cars out of storage.
