turbo values

I reviewed my insurance and I drive it as much as I can. I don't think it lower the value that much. Yes something can happen, I'll live with it. Last summer, I made a road trip to climb Mt Washington...

Just look at Steves Rufus. That was one of the cars that inspired me. Bad things happen. Luckily the driver was ok. There is plenty of cars but you only have one life. Enjoy it.

Good thought, I need to do this as mine currently isn't set to the value that it needs to be for a replacement if something were to happen.
997rs4.0, love the white and the Ruf rear end with the vents!

I drive mine maybe 2K miles a year and often just commuting without much traffic. I just had the oil changed at the dealer and they see very few 993T that are being driven due to their higher values. Too bad. Although the dealer would like me to trade on a newer used Turbo, I tell them that my 993T will stay with me. Porsches can't be enjoyed unless you drive them. Do so and you'll be happy.....

A bit OT but we already know the 993 value are skyrocketing specially the limited production models like these two that were stolen recently. So triple check where you park, where you store it and many survilance system protection and insure it/them properly.

That is the EXACT reason I recently sold mine. It would've been a shame to take a large hit in resale value for a car I only drove 1,000 miles per year should it ever have been in an accident. I just don't trust these texting teenagers

If that is the case the cars will resurface in time as siezed assets or covered in rubble from a bomb attack.

Sorry, I don't get the obsession with not driving. We all drive cars that depreciate with no concern of the value, why worry about a car that at this moment appears to be appreciating.

The argument could be made to D R I V E your 993 Turbos because they are "free" to drive, since the are appreciating. How can you beat that?
Yeah, you can get into an accident. $hit happens. Most likely nothing will. That's what insurance is for. That why I said early on; properly insure, properly drive and properly park.

As far as these cars (993 TT) being free to drive, I would argue that if you have a sub 10k or 20k mile car and you rack up miles on one of these, you do take a big hit on value. It's just the way the market is. If I could do it over again, I would've bought a 50k mile example and drove it with far less worries.

thats what i thought
imo…two most likely scenarios are:
1. no accident
2. accident caused by someone else
least likely is accident caused by you; which is only payout for increased 'agreed' value
not worth the extra premium imo…especially for those of you who don't drive your turbo
makes more sense to have a policy protecting you against the 'other' driver

The drastic increase in 911 turbo pricing is making it harder to buy them.
Sellers are looking to ebay asking prices and following suit.... $200k, $250k
Asking prices are doubled from almost two years ago.
Should one buy in such an inflated market?
