maybe we should have an 'official 993 turbo /turbo S market thread' sticky, so it can stay at the top and threads could be consolidated there. That way, it's easy to find for people interested and easy to ignore for people who aren't ...

Then you should be willing to sell yours to me for $40K.

I love discussing the value of things. I've never understood why some people take such offense to it. The 993 is no longer a car. It's a work of art. That's why it's risen in value. If performance is what you are after, go buy a new 911 or maybe a Corvette.

well, since reading isn't your strong suit, since I'm not interesting in selling, I don't care if you offered $40k or $140k, the answer is no.

The 993 is no longer a car? uhhh, wtf? Its not a work of art. Its a ****ing machine used for transportation and driving enjoyment.

I have plenty of performance from both my 993TT and my 997TT, thanks.

People who view these cars as non-useable works of art is exactly the problem.

I am not offended by the discussion of value. I am annoyed by it, since it has taken over the bloody TECHNICAL forums.

The car has gone up in value and asking prices are well into the hundreds of thousands. What the **** else is there to discuss.

This X 1000000000000000000000000000000000

fwiw, when I purchased my 993tt in 2003 it represented about 150% of my net worth. I decided I would mentally write off it's value as it would destroy the enjoyment for me. I wouldn't part with it for any amount of money unless my family needed it.

Default turbo values

What oil should I use to maintain the value of these cars? The dealer in town recommends 0w-40. Would it further increase value if I start taking my car to dealers for service?

That's why they're worth what they're worth. If the concept pisses you off so much you shouldn't click on the thread.

I love collectible cars and discussing collectible cars.

wait a minute these are worth money? I was under the impression we were just holding on to them for Opo since he doesn't have enough garage space

If your car doesn't have the original gas and oil it is basically worthless.
