What is there to miss from the C4S other than the lower purchase price?

The motor sound and the heavy clutch. I have both and that is my opinion.

techsis: That is one truly lovely SY 993 and I am sure it sounds nice but in my case I have never thought of the sound of my C4S since selling it. I really do appreciate the turbo and would say that it as at least twice the car.

I aggree witch techsis that the NA sound is nice, especially under low RPM load, never heard it in a tt. Totally different cars tough and I like the fact that a tt sound different as well. So as your signature says, missed but not that much

Judging from the comment in your own signature, I think you already know?

For me, I miss the fact that I could drive the snot out of the C4S on public roads. Not really possible in the tt as the speed accumulates so much more rapidly.

I also miss the clean lines of the 'tail-less' deck lid.

I agree..."clean lines of the tail-less lid" and the lower purchase price and after that the missing stops. Oh .... yeah... you must have higher speed limits and better roads where you live b/c I could never drive the snot out of mine on any of the roads that I found. :-)

New general rule of thumb. Every new generation porsche that is released = 5k base 993tt market increase

Hey Pong, you wanna try that challenge on a WET road?

Your car is really a dynamic car and great on dry roads, but its definitely would be challenging controlling that power with 2WD on slippery conditions.

Agree that the general rule of costing does not really work because mileage/age/price is not a linear relationship.

DUDE - he's in California - there are no wet roads! We can only dream of that here! Sounds like we need to fly Walter (Rohrl) over for a comparo.

Hi Mark,

Yes, I know Pong is in California, and in fact I have test driven his car -> awesome machines, scared the wife good. I was considering purchasing it (at the the Pong was thinking of selling) but I realized I could not drive this car up in Vancouver when the roads are wet - otherwise its a driving machine for sure.

Anyone who gets themselves into a pickle on a wet road with either a RUF BTR or a 993TT probably does not understand how a rear engine car behaves or trying to be Walter Rohl.
